Tool-free and lever-actuated, WAGO's 221 Series wire splicing connectors easily, quickly and safely connect solid, stranded and fine-stranded conductors of different cross sections using two-, three-, and five-wire connectors. These connectors are available in two variants which accommodate 24-12 AWG and 20-10 AWG wire. Opening the levers on the 221 Series requires little effort. This means that you can connect conductors quickly – and without tools! While connecting the conductor, recessed handles on the sides ensure an easy, secure grip on the connector. For peace of mind, you can test the voltage from either side of the connector even when installed – one test point is in the conductor entry direction and the other is on the opposite side. This accessibility provides extremely convenient testing conditions, for a wide range of applications. In addition, mounting carriers are available for every 221 Series splicing connector. Each variant can be mounted vertically or horizontally. Simply secure the carrier by snapping it onto the DIN-rail, or with screws on smooth surfaces. Flexible mounting clamps simplify both connector insertion and removal. Conductors can be conveniently connected and removed before or after inserting a connector into the carrier. One test slot is always accessible to ensure compliance with VDE standards.

I have used thousands of wagos and I absolutely love them they are a million times better than wire nuts easily the most serviceable and workable connection for electrical wires in a residential commercial or industrial setting

Your nuts if you don’t use Wagos at least some of the time. We have all installed a ceiling fan or something and then it didn’t work. Well, even though I know it probably is the fan, I still check all my connections. If you are using wire nuts, that is a ton of twisting and untwisting. Wagos take that work away, in addition if you are mixing solid and stranded wire, Wagos are superior to nutting the wires together. I was remodeling a home and as I began to lay out my circuits, I realized that using Wagos with extra capacity at receptacles and switches (that were not over used) made life very easy to add an outgoing wire to another device.I tried some name brand push in connectors a few years ago, and threw them away. Because of that bad experience, I held off on Wagos for way too long. In my current house, I have joked that the electrician paid for the wire out of his own pocket because every single outlet has the absolute bare minimum amount of wire. That wire is precious to me and that last thing I want to do is beat the wire up modifying the devices attached or the outlets themselves. If I can untwist and straighten my wires, then use a Wago, I don’t have to ever worry about working with that wire again. I can add to or remove from the box with the wire in it, upsize they wago or downsize it and I don’t have to do anything to that wire again - the wago is doing the work.If you are concerned about the strength of the connector, pop the wago leaver on your finger tip - you will not doubt the connector again. I love these connectors and can’t imagine living without these, because it has sped up both the install and the tracing of problems. Also, If you are locating wires, a 221-412 is great for continuity checks. I cannot say enough good things about these, and it has changed the way I work. Give them a try, you won’t regret it!
