I learned about these from a YouTube video.These are great for any house-hold wiring, but what I like about them is that they are faster and more secure than a standard "American" wire nut. I've used them for a few years now - one repair was for an outside outlet that stopped working - the wire had pulled out of the back of an outlet, and whoever had done the work before cut the wire too short for anything accept putting the wire in the back. Or so I thought. Cleaned wire, and worked great with a lever nut - especially since I was on a ladder to reach it - it was tucked up under the eves and was for switching christmas lights. Recommend. If you value your time, use these.

Simple, reliable, very quick to use. These are more expensive than using wire nuts, but they save a lot of time. I wired a whole house in the Philippines using only WAGOs. If you keep an eye on the proper depth of wire insertion as you use each Wago lever nut, you will never have a loose connection or a wire that pulls out. It is easy to change or modify the wiring for a room or a section of the house without damaging the wires. These come from Germany, my home country where almost every house and apartment has been wired that way for decades.

Lever Nuts are great for attaching ceiling fixtures. Your home wiring uses a solid cable, while the light fixture usually has a stranded cable. You can twist on a wire nut, but i've had problems with making a good contact between the stranded and solid cable. These Lever Nuts make it easy for such a scenario especially when you're struggling to hold the fixture and wire it at the same time. It also makes it great for fluorescent light ballasts where you can similarly prep the replacement ballast at floor level and then quickly and easily make the final connection at the ceiling. These absolutely beat wire nuts for any light fixtures that you might ever replace.Lever nuts and Push wire connectors also work for electrical junctions and saves some space compared to standard wire nuts, however, I usually use wire nuts for more permanent connections like that.Also, the Wago product lines all have UL-US, UL-Canada, European code compliance and even are approved for use on American and European ships.Step by step for ceiling fixtures:1.) strip and prepare all wires2.) while fixture is on floor, attach lever nuts to all stranded wires and press levers down to secure3.) lift fixture up to ceiling box4.) insert solid wires into lever nut and press lever down to secure, repeat for other wires5.) (OPTIONAL) twist wires to further secure5.) mount light fixtureBOOM! Done!

Now what am I going to do with my drawer full of standard wire nuts & push-in splices? Since finding out about the Wago Lever Nuts and using them for various electrical wiring projects, I've pretty much given up using standard wire nuts and plastic push-in splices. The lever-nuts are much easier to use in repair jobs when the wires are still hot. (OK, so I don't always turn off the power when doing small repair jobs, but you don't either, and don't pretend you always do it by the book!) Much easier to insert each individual wire into a lever-nut slot than to try to twist several live wires together using a wire nut. The lever-nut also makes it easier to connect several wires because you can do each one invidually. Can't do that with a wire nut, have to get them all together at the same time. The difference is especially noticeable when connecting 5 wires together. The 5-wire lever-nut makes it a simple task. The lever-nuts also have a couple of advantages over the typical push-in type plastic wire splices: first the push-in types are hard to reverse, sometimes impossible, usually end up cutting them out, the lever-nuts are easy, just flip the lever and remove the wire; second, the push-in types only work with solid wire, can't be used with stranded whereas the lever-nuts will accept solid or stranded. I have the 2- 3- and 5-wire lever-nuts, wished they would make a 4-wire version, and also that they would make them available with different color levers. Right now you can get any color as long as it's orange.

These things are a MUST for any DIY smart home enthusiast. They make installing switches and outlets a breeze. Especially the oversized smart switches and outlets available today. They take up less space than standard marretts and sit flat in the back of the gang box. If you ever need to change anything, they quickly come out and are reusable, but more importantly, you don't ever have to resplice your cables. I am entirely sold on this product and will buy more if needed.
