Would need thick yarn to really fill in the squares. I have yarn that left large gaps and I didn't like how it looked and never finished it.

This arrived and the grid was a little more spacious than I was expecting, so I’ll probably have to get a thicker yarn than I was hoping to use, but other than that this will be a fun craft kit to use. I’m not sure who I will make something for yet, but thinking I’ll maybe make a little farmer’s market tote for my daughter.Overall, though, seems like a good product for a good price. A little bit larger than the million pieces of embroidery mesh I inherited from my Grandmother, but that's just an excuse to collect more yarn!
