The magnets are strong enough that the boxes were stuck together when they came in, but not so strong that the clip was hard to open. A+

I was delighted when I received this bill clip because it is everything I wanted at a good price and the service was faultless. I’ve used magnetic money clips for many years. I have several pairs of shorts with shallow nylon pockets and my old smooth leather clip was prone to slipping out of my pocket when I would sit down. This large, stronger clip is more of a rough finish that stays put in my pocket better. Since it is larger it has more surface area which adds to its grip. The magnets are quite strong and holds a larger number of bill than any of my old clips. Very pleased with this.

Would give 5 if description was more accurate. Is not smooth leather but coarse felt that you probably don't want to get wet. Disappointed.
