I really like this camera. I used it when we were abroad to check in on our 4 cats. The app worked fine and you can play remotely. The intercom also worked well because I'd talk to our cats and they could definitely hear me. It moves a little slow but that may be because of our wifi. Would definitely recommend.

Great camera! I don’t understand why some people leave bad reviews. Yes, there are a lot of settings, and at first, I was a bit confused, but my daughter helped me figure it out. This camera has been a real lifesaver for us. After surgery, my cat has to stay in isolation for a while, and thanks to the built-in laser, he doesn’t get as bored when we’re not home. I can control the laser from my phone and watch him in real time. Some people say that you can’t save videos to a memory card—that’s not true! You just need to set it up correctly.Overall, I’m very happy with this purchase. The camera is excellent! 🔥✨

The camera itself is good, with high-quality images. The sound is reasonably clear. I have only been able to get it working when connected directly to my router via network cable. The WIFI setup was unattainable, despite a couple of email communications with the VStarCam support. They did attempt to help me, and were nice to deal with. I am happy I was able to get it connected, but would have preferred the WIFI connection. Another negative thing I have noticed is that the base of the unit gets in the way of the camera, so the full view is obstructed when you are trying to look down with the camera from a tabletop.

I have had this camera for a few days now. The setup was easy. It took me only about 10 minutes.Download their app by scanning the QR code provided with your phone camera. Remember to set it up using your WiFi on your phone set on 2G, not 5G. When is asks you to scan the specific camera QR code, you will find it on a sticker on the bottom of the camera. [Do not be misled into thinking that your phone must stay set on 2G. That is only necessary during the setup so that the camera itself is hooked up to 2G. My phone is back on 5G and my camera is operating flawlessly.]The image quality is excellent for the price of the camera. I have a 128GB micro-SD card installed (format the card using the camera app). It records 24/7. It records over the oldest video. Mine appears to store approximately 42 hours. That will probably vary depending upon the lighting, etc. The playback can be done remotely by phone, or by using a card adapter in your computer.I have also practiced using the "human detection". It also works fine. When you look at your playback list of stored videos, it will show a small icon in those videos when "humans" were detected (see my phone screen image for the first photo showing the list below the playback screen.) I keep that function turned off when I am at home.My cat LOVES the laser function. I have practiced with it remotely and he has a fantastic time chasing the red dot around my apartment. (Now sometimes when he is bored, he sits staring at the camera apparently hoping that the laser will come on!)The audio function works really well. I can get his attention remotely with my voice. He immediately knows that it is laser play time. (The second photo shows what you see in real time when viewed remotely.)For the price, I don't think anybody could go wrong buying this camera. I intend to purchase another of their units (without the laser) to place in my front window for additional security.

Could not for the life of me get the camera to connect to the wifi. On top of the aggravation of doing everything it instructs and it still not working, part of the set up is this horrible earsplitting screeching you have to have your phone play (on max volume) for it to "sense the waves of the connection" in order to connect. The screeching is on a 90second time-out too that you have to endure the entirety of when it doesn't inevitably connect. There has to be some other way to make the connection without the ear piercing screeching. It's so ridiculous it almost seems like the company is trolling you.The only way I could get it to work is through the hardwire connection. With that, connecting was fairly simple, and once it was connected the device seemed pretty good! Camera quality was good. Microphone and laser pointer works well. Controlling the movement of the camera was laggy but it worked. If it wasn't horribly frustrating and impossible to connect wirelessly then I would have rated it at least 3 stars and kept it. But given everything listed above, plus me not being able to use it where I need it due to the location of my router (since hardwire is my only option), I am absolutely sending this back.So I guess if you have the capability of hardwiring it to your router in the place you need it and dont want a wireless connection, then it's a good device to get! Otherwise steer clear!!

Im blown away by how much we use this camera and pointer to keep an eye on our dogs and their movements. Especially how they behave when we leave the house. Our Toy Poodle spent the first few days barking at the camera as Im sure the LEDs attract his attention (as does anything else in sight) and is always entertained with the IR dot. Our Dobermann just has a look every now and then and moves on.All in all I would recommend this above most other cameras just due to the IR dot! All the functions and maneuverability is amazing. Really very happy, especially the movement sensor so I can see what times at night the dogs have passed by the hallway.I'll be picking up some extra cheaper cameras to add to the eye4 app so we can see them in other areas though. My only gripe is the joystick control for moving the camera as it doesn't respond as expected but thats a personal gripe.

I'm very happy with this purchase. It was simple to set up the camera and app. The camera quality is excellent. I can now watch my furbaby when I leave the house without her. It will also come in handy as added security to my home. The size of the unit is great and is unobtrusive.

Once you figure it out, the cam and app get the job done!Pros:The quality of the video feed is really impressive. The camera's range of motion allows you to really get an expansive view of the room you place it in.The motion detection and app notifications for this are helpful. While it lags a bit, the laser is a nice feature if you're using this for a pet while you're away. We have a 2-story house and keep this camera in one room. If I get nervous b/c I haven't seen the cat in a while, I know that just being able to turn on the laser will get her in the room so I can make sure she's still good!Great price point.Cons:Like others have said, the set up is not user friendly. I'm pretty tech savvy, and I did get a little frustrated.Thankfully, with all of the reviews on this site, I was able to figure out.The app that you download on your phone to control the camera and access the feed has horrible user interface. Definitely take some time as you set up the camera to familiarize yourself with the icons in the app so you can see first hand how they control the camera (i.e., before you use it to monitor your house/pet while you're away). The laser definitely has a lag but again, I think this is better than nothing! One very annoying thing, though - when I open the app to play the camera feed, it defaults to having the laser ON. My cat loves a laser, so it can get her all excited when she was just peacefully hanging out, and now she wants to play.
