Leaks from valve covers may be problematic. These not only cause unsightly stains but may lead to serious problems if not repaired.
What is a Valve Cover Gasket?
Designed to seal the valve cover to the surface of the engine cylinder head, the valve cover gasket prevents motor oil from leaking out of the joint. The valve cover gasket withstands the stresses of the two surfaces expanding, shrinking, warping and rubbing while sealing in engine oil.
Install step::
1. First, remove the valve cover screws from both sides to the middle diagonally, pry the valve cover with a slotted knife and take out the valve cover gasket;
2. Clean the valve cover with cleaning agent, clean the contact surface between the valve cover and cylinder head, install the valve cover gasket, apply sealant, and screw the screws diagonally from the middle to both sides;
Pay attention when replace gasket:
* Pls use genuine gasket,wipe the two joint surfaces of engine and clean valve cover with a soft brush.
*Clean the valve cover with cleaning agent, clean the contact surface between the valve cover and cylinder head, install the valve cover gasket, apply gasket maker, and screw the screws diagonally from the middle to both sides.
*Don't scar the valve cover surface when carving debris.Tighten the fixing bolts of valve cover evenly,not too tight,which might hurt your cover.

Purchased for 2008 G6. Gasket is too small. I could stretch it to fit, but the amount I had to pull did not give me confidence. Then when I put the grommets on, they would not snap into place so that was enough for me to purchase a different brand.

I have been replacing these gaskets for years. I have always used Felpro with the same part number. This one being for my car I decided to be cheap. NEVER AGAIN! The shape of the gasket is the same but it is too small. I ended up throwing it away and paying the price for quality.

The fit was perfect. However, the grommets for the valve cover bolts were inadequate. They are supposed to be a hair lose but these were more than a bit. And 2 of them couldnt be used because they were split completely. So i had to reuse two of the old hardened rubber ones. Aside from that it was ok.
