This is a Hard - Working Strong, versatile household fan, and we love it! It’s very quiet for its very powerful airflow - This fan is very easily adjustable, in speeds, and range of flow. It’s a great Lifetime investment for our family. We needed it for its airflow more than anything else and boy, does it deliver!I have several smaller personal VORNADO fans, for workspaces and hobby areas, too. Before I was born, and all through my life my parents kept and used a smaller, 10” metal VORNADO tabletop fan - I now have grandchildren of my own, and we are still using that lovely little 10” hard-working VORNADO tabletop fan.

I use this fan in the bedroom to help circulate the air from the AC, and it works wonders. I bought one of their smaller models about 15 years ago, and it’s still going strong, so I decided to pick up this one. The quality is just as impressive. The fan is designed for easy cleaning—everything comes apart so you can remove any hair or grit that builds up around the blades. On the lowest setting, it's whisper quiet, yet it still moves a good amount of air, comparable to a cheap box fan on medium or high. On medium, you'll hear a slight whoosh, and it creates significant air pressure—enough to push air through a comforter or light blanket from five to ten feet away. On the highest setting, it does get pretty loud, with noticeable blade noise and a strong whooshing sound, but the amount of air it moves is impressive. The build quality is excellent. None of the parts feel delicate. The switch has a solid, quality feel to it, the blades are thick, and the fan's body is made of durable plastic that seems like it could withstand a strong impact. The stand is a sturdy metal tube. Overall, this fan feels like a "buy it for life" product, not something you'll be replacing anytime soon.

I just replaced my Canadian made Seabreeze Turbo-Aire that I owned for over 12 years with this Vornado 293HD circulator fan. So far I am very impressed by the build quality and operation. It is heavy duty and has some weight to it. The air throw is very good on all the speeds. The base is metal and very rigid. I read some had trouble with the base assembly. There are two washers per side. One is plastic and the other larger one is rubber. Make sure to slip the legs between the larger "rubber" washer and the knobs. This will prevent it from rotating on its own.The only issue I noticed is there seems to be a sharp/unfinished edge on the perimeter of the fan housing. When you advertise a product as PERFECT, something like this should not pass quality control.

It was a pleasant surprise when the box arrived for my fan and the outside was stamped with “made in USA”. I thought it was a fluke, but it turns out Vornado has a handful of models made here at home. I went a little overboard ordering more, as I have five of them now. The pedestal mounted version is especially nice. They’re not quiet even in their lowest setting. They definitely move air though, which is what they’re designed to do. The one I have out in the garage has seen the dirtiest use and it’s still happily turning despite getting wet a few times. I’ve got a couple of others tied to a temperature reading power outlet and they work very well as my attic fans. If you’ve got a need to move a good amount of air in less than ideal conditions, and you don’t mind some noise getting the job done, these fans are for you. Knowing someone here at home in the USA got a paycheck because you bought local, is a solid perk. If you read carefully and your fan is going to live in a damp spot, get the green one!

This is a great little fan, very powerful for its size and I would highly recommend! We needed a fan that would provide air flow to the top of a loft bed, the tilt on this combined with circulating air worked wonders! You can feel the air moving even if you aren't directly in front of it, moves the air around our entire 700 sft apartment

I needed a fan for the 100+ Seattle summer heatwave. I picked this up, knowing full well, its a shop fan. Wow! Its loud but my ls50w's are louder. For my 400sqft studio, this fan really does circulate the air and keeps the air inside fresh. I usually sleep with a fan for the coolness and white noise, this didn't seem to bother me as much as any other fan.The design of the fan is beautiful! Sturdy yet comfortable foam handles, the stout metal tube legs, and killer hard plastic green, serve a utilitarian purpose yet enhance its overall aesthetic. It's when you turn it on that this blows you away, maybe not literally, but any loose papers or light weight materials surely will be instantly whisked. I will say that since I've plugged it, about 2 months ago, I haven't turned it off. No breaks at all. Its a workhorse for my non air-condiditoned studio. I need it to be or I'll melt. Such a quality motor and overall design, Vornado knows what they are doing. With summer coming to an end and the temperatures dropping, I have reduced the fan to just the low setting because any higher and I need a hoodie.I splurged for a high quality fan with a heavy duty purpose, in hopes to over achieve with regard to my expectations. It did and still does just that!

Expensive. But Amazingly Quiet for a shop fan. The 293 heavy duty shop fan is louder than my other Vornado fans but still quieter than any other fan I have owned. It should work for those who use a fan for white noise. Equivalent to a desk top oscillator fan with the push of a large floor fan!Free Automatic 5 year warranty. Fast shipping with Prime. Go thru Amazon and get free returns. Nice feature but you are going to keep it.Great for circulating air thru rooms. Head allows for complete 360 degree turning.Padded handle on top. 1 inch clearance from bottom of handle padding to the main fan. Inside of handle is 5 inches expanding to 6 inches across. Good for large hands.Out of box it had 2 pieces; base and head. Slide the head into base notches, tighten knobs and done. One Con: The motor is heavy. You need to tighten the head down very well to keep it in place. However, since it is intended to be angled up for proper air circulation, this is not a big deal.Would I buy again? Absolutely! Actually, this one is for my parents. Dad has tinnitus & Mom gets migraines from noise. Perfect!I have bought 2 other Vornado fans as $ allows. I don't know they are on until I walk past the flow. Those would not work for sleeping white noise but Great for by TV. No need to turn TV up to hear it.Other Vornado fans I own are: Vornado Vintage table top fan, Style 6, from Wal-Mart AND Vornado tower air circulator with remote, Model OSCR37, from Target.Still can't justify the cost? Still need a fan? I recommend Lasko Wind Tunnel. Cheaper but still very nice. Note: Wind Tunnel! Not Wind Machine. Big difference between the two.

I love this fan! I point mine diagonally up and across the room to make a nice "vortex." Basically it moves air very comfortably just like the pictures with the of "air flow" graphics. I thought those were just a gimmick! I don't even point the fan towards the bed.Even without being in direct contact with the blowing air. You can feel how it makes the air around the room. It's a very pleasant and not over stimulating effect perfect for sleeping. My only issue is that the big nuts on the side of the fan need washers to protect the plastic and prevent it from loosening when picking up the fan. That's an easy enough fix though, just 2 washers from home depot.Love this fan!
