Pedal Power X4 is a professional isolated power supply for both battery operated and high current DSP effects. Its ultra-compact size fits even the smallest low-profile pedalboards—including Voodoo Lab Dingbat TINY and Pedaltrain Nano and Metro—and operates at any mains voltage for international touring. X4's innovative hybrid DC transformer design incorporates exotic components, linear regulation, and computer optimized filtering to establish industry-leading audiophile quality power that unveils the hidden sonic potential of your rig. As well as delivering the cleanest, most reliable power for small pedalboards, Pedal Power X4 also shines as a supplementary power supply for an expanding rig. Powering directly from a Pedal Power 3 X-Link expansion port or any 12V 400mA DC output, X4 adds four isolated outputs to an existing Voodoo Lab power supply. X4 can also power from the AC courtesy outlet of a Pedal Power 2 PLUS to upgrade its isolated output capacity and high current capability.

I have a larger power supply of the same brand in my main studio which I highly recommend. I bought this unit to power a few pedals in my bedroom where I also practice on occasion. The unit is high quality and works well. It has four 500mA isolated 9V outputs which will handle most pedals. I recently purchased a popular digital multi-effect pedal which requires 500mA and this powers it perfectly. The only thing I don't like about it is that the included AC adapter, in addition to not being grounded, does not plug into the back of the unit. Rather, there is an included dongle which plugs into the front of the unit alongside your pedals and the AC adapter cable plugs into that. It makes it a bit awkward to position the cables, since most likely your pedals will be in front of the unit and your AC power is going to be coming from behind the unit, so you have one cable making a U-turn which I find to be quite awkward and a poor design choice.Overall it's a good product and I'd buy it again. If you only need to power a few pedals, this is a good choice because it is from a known reputable brand and it's priced much lower than its bigger siblings. I would steer clear of the cheap stuff - most of them are not isolated and/or made with cheap components that don't last or could even damage your gear.

I’m happy with this little power supply. It fits perfectly under my tiny acoustic board. It's descrete and quiet. What more could you ask for?

Just stopped working. I was not gigging much and only used the power supply a few times. About the 3rd time I used it, It just stopped working. Been too busy to deal with it...Very frustrating as this is not a cheap product.

Using this power bank to power a Boss ME-20B, a Flanger and Tuning pedal. All works fantastic - great to have one power bank to connect to all of my pedals. Attached them all to a board so they all stay in place.

Small, weighs nothing, and improves pedals’ sound. And, I can't say enough about Voodoo Labs' Customer Service. They are really generous with their time and knowledge. Their products' quality and design are tops., as is their warranty.

I only use VOO DOO LAB, never had a problem in years of playing with their equipment. I'm a working pro who plays 6 nights a week in various settings and venues. Artist range from Big Band Singers to Funk, Blues, Rock N Roll and even Country. Lots of sessions as well. Hold up well on the road also. NONE of these supplies EVER caused a HUM in the studio or line noise or scratchiness. All pedal boards are quiet as a church mouse. My Big Board has 2 8 pedal power supplies and it is so quiet I have to look at the red light to make sure it is on. Get them you will love them. I'm building a small board now with one for 4 pedals only. Real Cramped on stage and only need 3 pedals.

Amazing power supply! Noticed a huge difference using this verse the cheaper daisy chain types of power supplies I’ve used for years! This power supply eliminates all hum I use to get through my amp when I used pedals.Yes I would recommend this and it makes a huge difference in the way the pedals sound...Clear and hum free.

I have used several power supplies for my effects boards. I needed one which would fit underneath a mini Pedal Train Board where I only use four pedals. This Voodoo X4 is absolutely perfect! It is very compact, whisper quiet, totally isolates the individual outputs...this is the best. And I know that the Voodoo quality is tops! I'm going to buy another of their power supplies for my big, double row Pedal Train.

Great little power supply, and I mean little! It's so small it will fit just about anywhere. I needed a DC power supply for my pedal board to eliminate the long AC cord to my old power pad power supply. I ran a 30 ft DC extension cord with my 30 ft midi cable from my rack to the pedal board and boom, no more AC extension cord on the floor! Super clean and quiet isolated power for my pedals and midi controller. Best purchase I've made in a long while!

I had read so many mixed reviews about other power supplies that I decided to splash out on the Voodoo Labs X4 which almost universally received glowing praise. I wanted to power up a small basic pedal board, but the main issue was powering a GK Plex, which requires a 500mA supply current. The X4 fitted the bill perfectly, with enough spare current and sockets to power an overdrive and multi-effects pedal as well. The only issue I came across was with the GK Plex because it wouldn't boot up properly whilst the X4 established its output supply. This caused the Plex to freeze, so I added a small toggle switch (on the diecast box top left of photo) to basically switch the power from the X4 to the Plex on and off. Once the X4 has established its output properly (which happens almost immediately) I simply flick the toggle switch which connects the X4 to the Plex, and the Plex then boots up as it should. I only mention this because if someone has a similar setup with a complex digital effects pedal and it is connected straight to the X4, it *might* not boot up correctly. Plugging in the pedal *after* the X4 is powered up should solve this problem. The other diecast box I built myself and is a true bypass switch for the effects pedal. The status LED is powered from the X4. I added this simply because it was almost impossible to bypass the effects pedal effectively as it requires both effect up and down footswitches to be pressed at the same time, and often switched to an adjacent preset effect before bypassing, which was sometimes annoying especially if the unintended preset effect was louder than the one being used.As for the X4, it has powered everything perfectly, with no noise, hum or any other unwanted noises. My only slight niggle is that the 18V output from the transformer box that powers the X4 is fixed and very short, meaning that mains power needs to be run to the pedal board location. Obviously a heavy duty low voltage extension lead could be used between the transformer and the X4 but this adds another potential weakness.Still worth 5* though!
