This GPS module works out of the box after installing or writing some python code to interpret the signals. All that it does is print strings of GPS data to the serial port, so reading it and parsing it is super easy.

I purchased two of these for use with my mini PCs that I use in astrophotography so I would not have to look up my GPS coordinates when I was at remote sites.They work well with my operating system on the capture devices (StellarMate X OS) and also worked well on all the Ubuntu based Linux installs I did.If I had one complaint about them is that the magnet in them is rather weak. I mount these on the counterweight of the telescope mount and they sometimes shift position when the mount rotates when selecting different targets.The first time setting up you will have to wait for up to 1 hour in clear skies for your location to be found, but once that is done later startups are fast unless you don't use the equipment for a few weeks.

I use this on my Windows 10 laptop. It appears in the Device Manager as a COMM Port and works well with PinPoint APRS software.
