I wanted to add a more natural item for my cat and Although my he does seem to enjoy the duck flavor the scent for me is overwhelming. Yuck !! I feed part of these once a day and continue on with his typical sensitive stomachs food. If you’re looking for a dehydrated option I would recommend this brand.

There is no softening of this biscuit it’s calcified. I’ve tried to soften a biscuit several times and I can’t get one to soften. I’ve tried warm cream, grease, broth oil even additional warmed cat food, it won’t soften enough for my cats to even think of eating it. My cats won’t touch a plain biscuit they don’t like it and aren’t even slightly interested in it. It says it’s full of great ingredients but no one will even lick it. Why won’t my dog who loves cat food almost any cat food (not these) won’t touch it either. The aversion the animals have along with it not softening at all, I don’t believe it’s natural food. I’m starting to believe it’s lab created (maybe cloned)

I am feeding my 3 cats this particular cat food and let me tell you they love the duck, rabbit and chicken. I researched for almost 7 months comparing quality, customer service and cost. Hands down all three catagories were absolutely on target. The customer service is excellent. I am telling you the kitties coats are soft and fluffy and everything they tell you on their website. Please try this if you are searching for freeze dried cat food. Also check out the quality control on "all about cats" website.

The Vital Essentials Freeze-Dried Duck Dinner Patties were a huge hit with the sister's finicky Top Cat. The food comes in easy to break apart bricks and can be fed as is or rehydrated with a little water to make it slightly softer. The bricks included are mostly whole and fully intact, but there is a small number in the bag that are half pieces or broken. This didn't really matter for us as the sister would break it into smaller pieces anyways, but if you want to feed it whole, you may need to look in the bag to give your a full brick sized meal. One thing to note is that if you do break the bricks apart, there are sections in each piece that have a white fatty substance in them that will grease up your fingers significantly. This can be washed out without a problem, but it does feel gross nonetheless. The Top Cat normally snubs food the first time she in introduced to a new food, but didn't snub this offering - it apparently tasted pretty good as she ate the entire bowl without much fuss. The sister noted she sometimes offered the brick whole, and Top Cat was a bit fussy about dealing with it - she wouldn't put up a fuss when broken into pieces. The food also did not have any adverse effects and she seemed to digest it without any problems. Overall, if you're looking for healthy food for your cat, this is a great option to consider.

My cat has food allergies and my vet approved of this food, in addition to his wet food that cannot be left out all day on a counter.

My cats love these, I cut them into huge chunks and my cats break them up and eat every single tiny bit that breaks down. They also like them wet but I have other wet foods and threats for them.
