Good quality of video. Easy to operate. The app could be better though, but not a deal breaker.

I’ve been using the VIOFO Dash Cam A119 Mini 2 for a few weeks now, and it’s been an incredible addition to my car. The 2K 60fps video quality is crystal clear, and the Night Vision 2.0 really shines when I’m driving at night. I love that I can easily access footage via the Wi-Fi, and the GPS tracking gives me precise data on my location and speed, which is super useful. The 24-hour parking mode is a lifesaver—whether I’m parked at work or out running errands, I feel more secure knowing my car is being monitored. The camera is compact and doesn’t block my view, which I really appreciate since I drive a lot. The voice control feature is also a nice touch, making it easy to operate while keeping my focus on the road. The supercapacitor is a great addition, ensuring it stays reliable even with fluctuating temperatures. If you’re looking for a high-quality, easy-to-use dash cam that offers great features and reliability, this one’s definitely worth it. I highly recommend it to anyone who drives regularly!

It's a nice camera and the mounting hardware is strong and easy to use. Video quality is really good. Size is nice.My only complaint is that the automatic stuff is FAR too sensitive. For example, it detects incidents and protects the video. Sounds great until you see that the 2 inch bump at the end of the driveway at less than 5mph triggers it.Turn all that off and it's a nice little dashcam.

The VIOFO A119 Mini 2 Dash Cam is impressive. The STARVIS 2 sensor delivers clear, sharp footage, even in low light. Installation was easy, and the compact design doesn’t block my view. I appreciate the GPS tracking and the reliable parking mode for added security. Overall, this dash cam offers great value with its quality performance and user-friendly features. I offered 6 months additional warranty upon registering. Highly recommended!

Deciding on what to buy:I slaved over trying to find a quality dash cam without breaking the bank. Hours of reading reviews, I finally decided to pull the trigger on VIOFO. The Mini 2 seemed the best solution for what I was looking for. Bought a 128GB San Disk Max Endurance (only because there was a reasonable price differenced than the VIOFO equivalent), and the polarizing lens.Installation:Watched several videos on installation, I thought I needed to wire it directly into the fuse box, but after a last minute decision, I decided to use my cigarette lighter adapter (which comes with the dash cam). Recording during parking wasn't a need I had so it made sense. Installing on a 2017 Honda Pilot the lighter plugin was perfectly placed to wrap the wire around the passenger side and directly behind the dash. The cord was easily hidden, behind the dash and behind all the panels, it literally took less than 10 minutes to install. I placed the dash cam directly behind the rear view mirror so it was hidden from normal view. But if I needed to get to the dash cam I could look from below or simply move my mirror slightly to gain access to the cam. Very content with the placement. The only thing that wasn't to my liking was how it stuck to the windshield. After placing as per the installation guide, I looked from the outside and noticed there was a reasonably large bubble in the center of the glue pad. I was able to easily pull it off so I retried to stick it on again. Similar results. However after almost a month of use, I have had no issues with it falling off. Time will tell. They do provide a second glue pad in the kit so if it falls off, I'll probably use the new pad.Daily Use:Most of the settings were great out of the box. I think I increased the resolution a little, didn't max that in fear of issues or exceptionally large files. Also set the wifi to 5.8 (I guess that's equivalent to wifi6?). I turned recording audio off as I didn't see that as a need we had. I think that's all I changed. Every time I start up the car, within a few seconds it makes the start up noise and then proceeds to tell me it is recording. Felt like the start up time was very reasonable. After turning off the car, it makes a shutoff noise. No issues in usage. We did go over some rough patch on the interstate through a construction zone and it indicated it was going to lock the recording. Has only happened through that stretch of road so I didn't reduce the accident sensitivity. Felt like that's a good option.Mobile App:Many reviews of other products indicated poor mobile app quality. I must say that I have found the app to be very stable. To connect your phone to the dash cam, hold down the wifi button and it will enable the wifi. I think recording has to be stopped for that to work. Use your phone to connect and you can now make configuration settings to the cam as well as select videos/images to download. My settings save a file every 3 minutes. And with my higher resolution setting, the video files are around 553MB each. Downloading files seemed very fast, consistent, with no issues. I believe you can watch the videos directly streaming from the cam or when you download them you can watch them from the app even if you are not connected to the cam. So far, no issues. One surprising fact was when playing back a recording in the app, at the bottom of the screen it shows the movement of the car on a map. Thought that was a nice little feature.Quality of the video:I'm very content with the quality of the video. The video is crisp, clear both day and night. No issues.Overall:Installation was fast and easy. Daily usage I've had zero issues. Mobile app is easy to use and have no issues. A great buy! Definitely recommend the the Mini 2. Will be buying more for the rest of my families cars.

I have several ThinkWare dash cameras before. This Viofo camera produces sharper and wider videos. The adhesive on the camera is not good and the camera keeps falling down. Based on feedbacks from other customers, I also bought Viofo industrial microSD and it works fine. Viofo microSD is $60CDN vs ScanDisk $20. The package comes with 2 USB-A2C cables: 1 is 3 ft and the 2nd super long. The 3 ft cable is practically useless. I need about 4 ft to go from the top of the wind shield straight down to the car's USB-C outlet. I bought a 6 ft cable from Staple but it does not work with the camera! I ended up using its supplied super long cable. Also, it does not come with small adhesive hooks so I can wrap the long cable around the edge of the wind shield to the outlet.Overall, this camera is a good product. The Customer Support is excellent as they responded to me right the way. They sent me extra adhesive hooks and camera bracket. They also reimbursed $20 to my account for the 6 ft cable from Staple which did not work. Thanks.

For this price range I think this is one of the better dashcams available. It's got a great image quality during day and night time, good features, and comes with everything you need to set it up yourself. I set it up by routing the power cable into my 5V USB adapter in my center console. This of course only delivers power to the camera while the car is on, so if you're looking for 24/7 footage you'll probably have to hook it up to a portable battery.I'm not a big fan of the app, which can be annoying to use because you have to connect to the camera via its own wifi connection (usually not that stable). So if you want to get footage off the SD card I'd suggest doing it manually.BTW, do leave enough room on the side of the camera for your fingers to grab the SD card easily! I wish I'd stuck my camera a little further away from my rear view mirror as it's a tad annoying to get the SD card in and out now.

As this is my first dash cam, I did a lot of research before deciding on this brand, which is in everyone’s top 5, and more research again to decide on this particular model. The most popular for years has been the A119 V3, which is a great camera with a larger screen, but I wanted something smaller - and this is small. It’s honestly almost overwhelming how many options there are, and price points, when if what you are looking for is a decent video, there really isn’t much difference between a $100 and a $400 camera - most of them use the same chips. The features change from front & rear, raider, internal video, hard wire parking monitor, GPS, etc - figure out your wants & need and then find something reliable and within your price point.I am not mechanically inclined, so it took me about an hour or more to install into my RAV4. I hid all the cable along weather stripping, trim, through the glove box and into the supplied 12V power jack that fits into what used to be referenced as the cigarette lighter. I chose not to hard wire the unit for parking monitoring as you need another component as well as a something for the fuse box. It was too daunting for me and I din’t want to pay someone to do it for me. Before install, download the most recent firmware update and set a reminder to check it, looks like they update at least a couple of times per year.Pros: decent video results, it’s small, 3M sticky pad is really sticky, so no concerns there. It takes up to a 512GB micro sd card so less worry around overwriting and what not. It’s small, takes up less real estate on your windshield. USB-C, includes durable cables as well. It has HDR which is supposed to be better for nighttime (though you can’t do 60 fps with HDR on). It has a new Sony Starva chip which is also supposed to be better for low light, but again, I have no reference points being my first dash cam. The ap is ok, though it uses your cell data (you can’t connect to home wifi and access). If you have wireless CarPlay, it gets confused between the two which is pretty annoying. It has a capacitor vs lithium ion battery, so far more durable when you have extremes of hot and cold like we do here in the great white north. There is a GPS but you don’t have to use it. Reminder that it tracks speed and location, so no hiding if you did something wrong.Cons: Video is ok. It’s not the same as having a go pro. I’ve only used it in the rain and night so far, but good luck getting all the details like every license plate, street sign, etc. THere is an overpriced filter that is supposed to help so I may try that later on. The app is ok, uses cell data (files are big), and if you have wireless car play, it gets very confused and drops the connectivity to the cam. My advice? Use a card reader and a computer to download the files. There are definitely more pros than cons.Overall, happy with the unit, already contemplating purchasing one for my other vehicle. I want to see how it does in the day and during different types of weather before ai make that decision, and I will probably get the polarizing filter anyway! Ultimately, after viewing dash cam videos on social media, anything is better than nothing, and VIOFO A119 Mini2 is better than most! 4 stars because I’ve had it one day in a car that I picked up the same day and I’ve only seen video in the rain. As a category, there is room to improve.
