Excellent! Just what I needed to mount four new fixtures on existing siding. Installation was straightforward. We did a color match and painted them to look just like our siding. Looks great!

I got new outside carriage lights for my garage and the base of the light was a larger rectangle than my existing equal sided, octagon shaped mounting blocks. I needed one that would ensure that the new light was solidly mounted, and waterproof. This mounting block did the trick. The great thing about this block is that you only have to have a small hole in your siding for the wire and it has a built in connection box. It comes with all you need to install your lights. Overall a good value.

I had a large light to install on our vinyl siding. This mounting block made the job much easier. The light ended up being square and vertical which would have been more difficult without the block. The seller claims it is made of Nylon and I expect it will last at least as long as the light!Would buy again.

This is a great option to add or upgrade a light fixture on lap siding. It's a solid, very clean-looking backing for a wall-mounted light fixture that avoids the gaps that normally show up on lap siding, allowing you to easily caulk and seal around. It has a built-in fixture box for your wiring, and can either replace a less well-suited exterior box or add a box where electrical wires aren't enclosed (which is common, though not safe, with exterior wall fixtures). The only negative is that the box is set up for 4" lap siding, which is maybe typical vinyl siding, but I have 3.5" aluminum lap, so there was a small gap under one of the laps. I filled this with caulk, and it's not really visible - you can see in the picture its the lower lap with the gap.All in all, a great product, a much better way to install wall-mounted light fixtures on lap siding than what I typically see, which often involves large gaps under the lap. A proper siding expert could probably install a drip edge around a fixture, but this is a cheaper solution for existing siding.
