expectations were low because of price and this metal shear is outstanding. it cut thin gauge metal sheet without effort. much better than the pricier knipex electric scissors that i purchased for same task. highly recommended. i intend check out other beadsmith products.

These are awesome! No hand fatigue from cutting with them or from trying to fit fingers in regular sized scissor holes. These are super sharp and cut sterling silver sheet metal really well. I'm really impressed with these.

These are easy to use and cut nicely. My hands are happy! Best pair I have owed and will buy again when these wear out.

I really didn't expect much from this tool given the extremely low price, so I was pleasantly surprised when it turned out to be an excellent value for the money. I work pure copper plate and fine silver sheet up to 18 gauge in my jewelry studio. This cuts these materials without hurting my hand or damaging the tool. Shearing plate with this tool is so much faster than sawing it with the jeweler's saw! Just understand that a shear slightly curls the edge and leaves a bur, so expect to do a little straightening and filing after the cut...

These work ok, but trying to cut full hard .004" thick stainless steel is not something these can do. Phosphor bronze, brass, and thicker gauge metals are fine...

I bought these to add to to my camping hiking bag. I decided to start carrying a few rolled up sheets of aluminum from Coke cans in my backpack for making points, fishing hooks, fasteners, tools, or whatever else I can think off, and these work for my needs, and they are compact.Just start a cut with your knife near the top and bottom of a Coke can, use these to cleanly cut the top an bottom off, then just cut the can vertically. Do this to a few cans, then roll them up and put a rubber band or a zip tie around them, and throw them in your bag. When you need something that can be fabricated out of the aluminum, grab a sheet and these shears, and cleanly and precisely cut whatever you need out of the material. Even if you don't carry sheets of aluminum, you may find a can on the trail and decide to recycle it this way.Not sure how useful they are with thicker metals, but they suit my purpose.

I'm using these snips to cut some copper sheets that I'm using to make battery contacts. They work very well, are easy to use, and are surprisingly much more precise than I had anticipated...it's easy to cut corners and slight curves with them, just like a pair of scissors.Recommended.
