Follow the instructions and don’t try to get in a hurry. Especially if the alternator is 24 years old like mine is..took my time getting it apart. Everything is working good as new now.

Overall, the contents of this kit were perfect; the bearings were Chinese made but good quality, the brush assembly was nicely built and a perfect fit, and the rectifier assembly looked well built - great for the Denso alternator in my '98 Jeep Cherokee (XJ) 4.0L.So why only 1 star?Because the rectifier was junk - dead-shorted internally. I rebuilt the alternator, even replaced the slip ring (commutator) on the rotor, and used my Fluke to verify all components were good each step of the way, all good except for one; the rectifier. I made the assumption that the new rectifier was good, and that assumption cost me an alternator, PCM, and underhood fuse box/PDC when it tried to catch fire as the battery was connected. As I said, I tested each step of the way until the end when the rectifier is installed, and I have over 20 years experience in this. I fully understand that my experience may differ from yours, but Caveat Emptor none the less. This nice quality rebuild kit will set me back an easy thousand in additional repairs...compared to the $150 it would've cost for a 'new' alternator.

It worked fine, good instructions, very good for the price. be advised thou there are two versions of nippondenso alts. that dodge runs a 90A and a 120Amp. most run the 120amp witch this is. the bearings will work on both. the rectifier is lager on the 120Amp. If you have air condition in your car it is probably a 120amp.

Bearings are cheaper than I'd like. I got the wrong amp output so the rectifier was too large but used bearings and brushes. Cleaned up the old rectifier and now alternator works great. Cheap fix. My screw up on amperage. Very happy

The self-rebuild went fine. Everything fit just right and the included instructions were clear and very helpful. The only thing I didn't like about the kit was that it came with generic 'China' bearings. I would have preferred a US made or quality Japan made bearing. I'm not sure how long the China bearings are going to last but the original bearings lasted about 175,000 miles!

As shown in the pic the repair kit has all of the parts, EXCEPT a set of slip rings, necessary to rebuild your alternator. I had to search other sites to find the slip rings which were just under $10. I would have been very happy to pay that additional amount to have the slip rings in the kit as it would have been more convenient to have it as a COMPLETE KIT. As to the effort to rebuild the alternator, very straight forward. If you can remove the alternator from the vehicle you possess the skills necessary to disassemble the alternator and replace the parts shown. Further saving yourself $200 or more in purchasing a rebuilt alternator and labor if the vehicle is taken to a shop. I recommend this kit to others, adding the slip rings really makes it a complete kit.
