I wanted a wide window covering that was raised and lowered with a beaded cord (not with a crank). This works very smoothly and the best part was that the installation went very easily with no SNAFUs. You may be able to see that I ordered two, one 6' and one 8'. They look great, I like the clean valance. This was an excellent purchase.

This is a great quality shade used on the western side of our covered porch. A neat and clean install makes it disappear when open and the shade when rolled down is excellent. Well worth the price. Has held up to severe temperature swings.

Purchased two 6-foot shades and hung them side by side from the breeze way ceiling between the garage and the house. The screws were too small of a diameter to hold securely. I used larger screws that I had available. There are two clips that hold the screen frame. Supposed to hook the back side of the screen frame to the clip and then press the clip to snap in the front side of the screen. This turned out to be very difficult until I used a large screwdriver to slightly pry up the back side of the screen frame. It then was able to snap onto the clips. One other problem is the pull chain had come off the pulley mechanism. This was fixed by taking the end of the screen frame off to access the pulley. This had to be done before installing the screen. Once I could reach the pulley, it was simple to put the chain back onto pulley. Overall, we really like the privacy and the look of the screens. The installation problems were frustrating but easily overcome. Would buy again.

We live in. Texas 🥵 and our front porch faces due west. Our steel and glass front door along with our steel and glass storm door get extremely hot. The gas seal has failed on the storm door and one of the glass panels on the steel and glass entry door actually shattered due to heat transfer! My opening is a snug 5’ and in order to hide the valance from street view I mounted the shade on the backside of the brick arch. Because the 5’ width was only available in an 8’ length when unrolled it sets about 2’ off the concrete floor. This actually works to our advantage. We still get air circulation around the inside and total sun shade on the doors and it leaves room for packages to be delivered. It rolls up very easily with the hand crank and is sturdy but light weight. The bungee straps hold it firmly in place when unrolled. We liked it so much that we bought a second one in case. This item gets discontinued in the future. We are extremely happy with this product.

I bought this VICLLAX 8'x8' roller shade to replace an old one I installed years ago. My back patio faces directly west and I live in sunny Arizona.THE GOOD:It does provide privacy, and I was attracted to the valence for two reasons:1) It protects the shade cloth from UV damage and the elements (when rolled up).2) The mounting clips system makes it relatively easy to install & remove to store for the winter.THE CHALLENGING:Installation can be challenging when mounting larger shades that require aligning 3 mounting clips, especially when mounting to an imperfect surface like stucco. I had to relocate my center clip about 5" off-center to a lower spot on the stucco. If you're mounting this to drywall, wood, or another plane surface, you won't have this issue. Some folks complained about the mounting screws snapping off or stripping. I didn't experience that as I used my own 2.5" screws to anchor it deeply into the wood framing beneath the stucco.THE BAD:There's no way this shade cloth material blocks 95% of UV. It's quite sheer. If the sunlight is getting through... UV is getting through. See the comparison photo with my old shade (Coolaroo) which was also rated at 95% UV blocking. This VICLLAX product description says, "up to 95% UV block". Up to?Also, the lifting crank has a swivel joint (u-joint) which is fine when cranking slowly, but when cranking fast (because a storm is hitting), it binds and locks up unless you pull down hard with the wand while cranking. And, the wand hook pops out relatively easily (which is frustrating) when cranking the blinds up or down.CONCLUSION:It looks good. The valence and attaching clips are nice features. Overall quality is good (not great). The biggest downside is the quality of the shade cloth and its ability to block the sun... which is the main reason you buy a 95% sun shade. So, if you're looking for moderate sun blocking, this one is for you. If you want 95% sun/UV blocking, keep looking.

This roller shade was exactly what we needed—effective, affordable, and looks great. It provides excellent shade and privacy, and the installation was straightforward, though having an extra pair of hands helped secure it firmly in place. The child lock feature for the cord is a fantastic addition, offering both safety and peace of mind.Durability is solid for the price. The hardware isn’t top-of-the-line, but it’s more than adequate and feels like it will hold up well with normal use. Aesthetically, it’s quite refined and matches our home nicely. When rolled up, it blends in perfectly. Highly recommend this shade!

We used these shades on our outdoor patio to block the sun while watching TV on our projector with a 100" screen. The shades hung easily, work flawlessly and do the job of keeping the sun out. With fall approaching we also noticed it cuts down on the chilly breeze. We keep them up when not in use and you don't even notice they are there. When its breezy, we hook the bottoms with the included hooks to stop them from blowing on the patio. Great product, price and quality.
