I suffer from misophonia which is literally the hatred of sound – can be defined as a hypersensitivity to background sounds or visual stimuli that are generally ignored by other people. This headset has helped me tremendously at work as I can listen to white noise or music to block out all the sounds that cause me problems. They can be a little too tight if you need to wear them for long periods of time - but otherwise they are terrific!

Great headphones. This is my second pair, as my old headphones died after 5 years when I stood on the lead and all sound went dead!I use these for everything; recording drums, guitar, vocals etc as well as listening to music. Nice sound and the isolation is very good, especially useful when recording drums as it means you can hear the music and click track without having to deafen yourself. They are well made and the updated straight lead is much better than the older curlywurly one.

Riacquistate in quanto quelle vecchie (identiche) le ho rotte. Ottima insonorizzazione (suono la batteria), e si sente molto bene. Pecca un po ai bassi ma niente di preoccupante... Prodotto molto buono!

I gave these headphones a five star rating because they are doing exactly what I wanted them to do and doing it well. I bought these headphones to replace a set that was made for people that worked around loud machinery like lawn mowers. The headphones that I previously used had a radio that never worked well. I used them with an iPod. The headphones were heavy and clumsy and required batteries. I had to replace them this year because the joint between one of the headphones and the head strap broke. I considered getting another similar pair but saw the Vic Firth headphones on Amazon and they seemed to be exactly what I was working for. The problem was that most of the reviews dealt with musicians and I wasn't sure that these would fit the bill. Finally I ran across one review that indicated a favorable rating for my needs and I decided to try a pair. The Vic Firth headphones do just as well at blocking engine noise as the older set of headphones that I had or even the earmuffs that I sometimes use. While they don't completely block out the noise it is reduced to a relatively low hum. Music from my iPod can be played at a comfortable level and sounds great. The Vic Firth headphones do not use batteries which my previous headphones did. The cable that connects the Vic Firth headphones to my iPod is a lot more substantial than the cables used with my previous headphones. In addition there is only one jack on the Vic Firth which connects to he iPod instead of the two I previously had to use - one for the iPod and one for the headphones which frequently became disconnected.I am getting on in age and my hearing is not as good as it used to be and I am not an audio engineer so I can't really comment on the quality of sound except to say that I am very satisfied with it. It is much better than what I previously had.I like to wear baseball caps when I mow and previously my older headphones would begin to press down on the button on top of the cap after awhile and they would become uncomfortable. In addition they would get hot and heavy. Not so with the Vic Firth headphones. They are very comfortable to wear, easily adjustable and pretty light. If you are like me and you enjoy listening to music while you mow and can use an iPod, MP3 player, or other device so that you don't need a radio built in these Vic Firth headphones are the way to go.

I work in an open-air office with some very noisy people. I was looking for some headphones with good passive noise reduction to mute the noise around me without needing to listen to loud audio to drown them out. These were the second pair I tried after returning a different brand that put too much pressure on my head for comfort. I really love these headphones! They do a great job of muffling and quieting ambient noise even without audio playing. They do put pressure on your head as part of sealing out noise. However, the around-the-ear padding is good, and the pressure is not uncomfortable to me. Some reviews have complained about audio quality... as a casual listener, I don't notice any problems with the audio, but I have a very untrained ear. There is quite a bit of foam packing in the barrels as part of the noise dampening, which might be affecting the clarity of the speakers. Again, other than a very slight muffling, the audio seems fine to me. The cord length is about six feet, which is good for use at a desk. The only drawback is that after a couple hours of wear, the top strap starts to hurt my head. (The design of the headphones is such that the top almost has to rest on your head). There is not a lot of padding here, and it eventually becomes uncomfortable. I usually just shift the top band to a slightly different position, which solves it for me, but you could add a little foam padding of your own and possibly fix it too. Additionally, it would be nice if it had a built-in volume control, but I don't really miss it.All around a great buy... well worth the price for how much it's reduced my daily stress. I highly recommend for dealing with noisy environments.

I got this because I was never able to hear myself while recording drum tracks. The models I used before had a looped cord, like the one shown in the picture, which was a little too short. I finally decided to get my own about a month ago, and it didn't have a looped wire. It had a straight one, which is longer, so thats good. While tracking with the headphones plugged into the laptop I wasn't able to hear myself properly. I was disappointed, but then i plugged it into the headphone input in my speakers which were connected to the laptop, and the result was fantastic. They're loud enough no matter how hard you play. I bet Dave Grohl would have a hard time hearing himself play if he turned these headphones on all the way up ! Thats why these are a must have for recording drums. Even if you use them to listen to music, no matter how much you turn the music up, no one will be able to tell what you're listening too. If you have issues with volume, then these are great. Cancels outside noise, prevents your music from being audible on the outside, and so on. Build wise, they're sturdy. They look heavy duty. The ones I've used before have never cracked anywhere. That's good if you use these in a studio, musicians often tend to be pretty careless. Comfort varies from person to person. Some people can wear these for hours without tiring. Some people can't. My right ear starts hurting after excessive use, but i think it depends on ear size, personal preference, and a lot of other factors. When you put these on, you can feel a vacuum being made. They really do put you in your own audio world. However, the quality isn't fantastic. The reason i gave it 5 stars is because I didn't buy these for sound quality. All I use these for is to listen to a metronome or a scratch track while tracking drums. The quality is no better than your average headphones. So if you want great sound quality, you might want to look elsewhere. But if volume is your issue, look no further. You simply will not be disappointed.
