It does the job but it’s not flush with the camera. The width of it is smaller than the camera body

The grip felt good in the hands when using and quality of material was good. My problem was it was causing my SonyA7iv to have problems with the zooming function. I had just purchased a new Sony A7iv camera and this grip. I thought the camera had a problem so I sent the camera and grip to Sony to have them figure out the problem. They concluded that the grip was not connecting correctly to the camera and was causing an error on my camera which was causing my problem. I tried messaging company as it was 3 months ago for answers and never received a reply. Ended up spending a lot more on the Sony Grip.

I have the Sony version for another camera body and there is only a slight difference when it comes to build quality - well worth buying for the price difference.

I ordered this battery grip and it came without the battery holder compartment, the battery grip protection cover and a damage scratched box.

This works perfectly on an A9ii and A7Riv. Both batteries in the grip will charge using the USB port on the Camera... same as normal.Same fit and function as the Sony battery grip for a lot less.Yes, I agree with some other reviews that the switches/buttons don't "feel" as nice as the Sony grip but for less than 1/2 the price for the same functionality, I can live with the "feel".

Went with this grip for my A7IV over the Sony because $300+ for a grip is pretty steep. I put the money I saved into a hotshoe flash.Build Quality and Fit and Finish: It's OK.It's very lightweight without the batteries in it but when it's installed on the camera and has two batteries in it, it feels solid. It's not a perfect fit for the A7IV... it's just a little slimmer on the backside which does not impact functionality at all, but I wish it was about 3mm thicker.Buttons and wheels all function like they should although they're "clicky" compared to the Sony buttons on the body. The shutter button has a more defined 1/2 press than the main shutter but it's a non-issue when shooting.Textured grip is not quite a perfect match but you wouldn't notice unless you're looking for it. It's also MUCH tackier than the body's textured sections. Feels more rubber-like. The smooth plastic has the same finish as the smooth plastic on the body.Batteries fit snugly into the tray which fits smoothly and snugly into the grip.Overall:For the price, this is fantastic. Transitioning to the A7IV from the DSLR world, I wanted a bigger body and this definitely makes the camera feel much more substantial. Also, it is pretty shocking how quickly you can go through battery shooting mirrorless so having 2 batteries is fantastic. I was able to shoot a 4 hour reception without changing batteries because of this grip and I love the comfort of being able to flip it vertical to shoot as well.Negatives... I mean, it's not a perfect fit or a perfect match in terms of build quality or finish. Buttons don't feel the same as the Sony buttons.Pros... Price. Price. Price. Does exactly what it is supposed to do and feels rock solid while doing it.

This does fit the A7iv, but it is just slightly smaller than the body (width) - not a big deal for me. Otherwise, it works as it should thus far, but does however feel less durable than the Sony one.4 stars because quality feels cheap (as expected)Worth the price if you're looking to improve ergonomics & battery life without spending close to $400
