Amazon Pipe standsI’m a 20yr tradesman welder and an AWS CWI (Certified Welding Inspector). I was not expecting high end quality but did expect functionality. I bought a pair. These are my findings:Defective fabrication:1. The set screw on the sliding ring that expands the tripod was gone. The welds on the nut were broken off due to no penetration.2. The other sliding ring was deformed due to weld over penetration and excessive heat. This caused that tripod to bind when opening and will quickly scrape paint if you can get it to move.Damage:1. Multiple holes in box2. Multiple places with paint worn off and/or chipped3. Bent tripod pivot bracing4. Missing set screw5. Bent set screwOverall:They will hold a pipe but one tripod will need to be forced open and the other will not stay open. Additionally, The paint chips will rust. So functionally the stands can be made to work but I shouldn’t have to modify / repair new equipment.

Gets the job done and love the portability of it. Can be kinda flimsy but haven’t had any issues with it.

Bought a set and the bottoms are different, the part to raise the stand hardly works.
