One thing that was impressive was the quality of the delivery. Although this is packed well in the box, I was expecting some barely human courier to destroy it.They were prompt, kept me informed at every step, and the cardboard package did not have as much as a dent or scratch. AIT Home Delivery UK are on my suppliers list now.It's alright for 50 pounds postage included.The guide spokes are useless and cause the press to jam all the time so I removed them, then added 4 pieces of felt in the corners so that the plate does not spin much or damage the paint.The acme screw is a little wobbly, LOOOTS of tolerance built into this for speedy manufacturing but it is not an issue, this isn't industrial equipment.The rest is fine, it is sturdy and clean and saves me forking out 200 for a rusty old one that I have to give a lot of TLC to and will also have 'character' that I don't need, they are also heavy.

This is a great product well constructed and easy to operate. Actually larger than I expected so I can bind larger books. I’m making journals and pressing the signatures and text blocks are crucial. This is perfect

Buyer Beware!CAN NOT HANDLE ADVERTISED PRESSURE! I was pressing small sheets of paper (which is literally what this thing is designed to do) and within 1 week of use the entire top bar has been bent beyond repair.I applied a fair amount of pressure but either the steel had a fault in it or it simply isn't capable of handling anywhere near 3 tonnes.I tried returning it and the seller is giving me a very hard time.

The press plate would fall off the threaded shaft. The groove did not match the set screws that hold the plate to the shaft. My husband had to machine the correct grooves to get the machine to work. Once that was done, it works perfectly and is a good value for the price.

I'm using this for my papermaking. It really helps press all the water out effectively and it helps to flatten the pages when they dryVery good product to buy. I would definitely recommend it

I can't say I'm not impressed with this. For $65, it does everything I need it to do and I don't have to muck around with a bunch of butterfly nuts. It's heavy and sturdy, the screw turns pretty smoothly. All but my largest books fit into it. If you can't or won't spend hundreds (or thousands) of dollars on a large, cast-iron press, definitely get this one instead of one of the little bamboo cutting board things. While those do work, this one is far less frustrating and less work. You can pick it up for roughly the same cost as two or three of the little wooden ones and this one is far less likely to snap in half.
