Holding back one star because it will take time to know how well it holds up. But this model does actually use grease for the working parts instead of an oil wick.. It does seem to work well so far and it does draw right at 14 amps and seems to be sturdy built

Good at the beginning then it dies and gets hot or even explodes. No doubt it's powerful but firstly they use non standard hard to get 5/8 Hex Shank bits which you can't even get a clay spade for, I've tried they dont exist.Beyond that its decent for its job but its cheap and won't last, mine died and caught fire, so get what you pay for.Don't bother get something name brand

I have a large concrete patio that I need to demo. I didn't want to do it all at once. Renting one for 2 hours is about the same cost on this unit. It works surprisingly well. The concrete is about 1 foot thick and a little thicker in some places. It breaks right through and overall haven't noticed it getting too hot and overheating.

I bought it on sale for around 60 dollars and didnt expect much in terms of performance but I thought it would be sufficient for digging holes in hard clay soil. I must say this has proven me wrong and I am very impressed. The jack hammer capability of this relatively small tool is very effective in demolishing concrete and digging holes in hard ground full of tree roots. One of best examples of value for money. I had not heard the name of this company 'Vevor' before this purchase and I now hold them in high regard.

i used this for breaking through my basement floor to repair some plumbing. i appreciated the globes, eye protection and the mask, as well as the little top up of grease. It's a great kit, and a great tool. I dont know if its contractor grade, I'd rather buy 6 of these than 1 milwaukee.I had never used a tool like this so it took me awhile to get the hang of it, also a basement floor is much more difficult than an exposed pad or curb or something outside. the two bits included have specific advantages in their use that quickly become apparent. its quite significant that you only need to apply enough pressure to keep the tool under control, not force it forward. also hold it straight on, dont hold it at an angle for most work. just imagine if it skipped and hit your shin, after you see it devastate concrete.i prefer the bull point to break into hte concrete then the chisel in between the holes the bull point creates to fracture, this was much faster than drilling holes to control the break. i dont have a saw to cut an outline so i used a rotary hammer drill to make 5-6 holes in the corners and a few holes about 3 inches apart on my outline. this worked really well to control the fractures although i dont know if it was necessary.its the perfect size for me and my small project. if i had to tear up an entire basement i would get a bigger unit. i can use it for about an hour of continuous work before the collar is hot to the touch and the grease begins to look thin. at that point i let it rest until the collar is cold to the touch. by collar i mean the square box just behind the bit.the grease bowl on top seems industry standard, awkward but not challenging.the bit come in plastic sleeves and oiled. i dont know what kind of oil but handy little sleeves. the bits are quite durable although the bull point is noticeably shorter when i was done, i guess showing i relied on it heavily. the bits can be filed to something of a point. this is helpful when breaking a new area. with a blunt end the bit can move around. with some light filing to narrow the point a bit, not really sharpen it, i noted significantly ease making new entry points. expect to eat bits of concrete if you dont wear a mask, also anticipate some respiratory discomfort. i was so excited the first 2-3 times i used it i forgot the mask but i use n95s for mixing concrete, the mask they provided helped a lot for breaking the second hole and it protects your face from the concrete chips.do not do anything without eye protection. i have other shatterproof safety glasses and they now have a couple of notches in them from concrete shrapnel.the chisel bit was a lot of fun smashing the shale clay beneath the base of my house, all that compacted clay and gravel is difficult to dig fence post holes in and under the basement floor it was super touch but a few jabs with the chisel bit and i was scooping out loose dirt, it was so great for that. a bit overkill for removing tiles and such, but great toolid buy this again in a heartbeat.

Great little jackhammer, though I have no basis for comparison since this is the first one I've ever used. Dead simple setup, just took a few minutes to get the hang of it, then I was able to break up a massive concrete fencepost footing in about half an hour. Found out after the fact how easy the handle is to adjust for maximum leverage. Totally worth it.

This Jack Hammer is (given the price point) much better than expected. Reduced a brick and concrete porch to rubble more easily than I expected. And without the need to swing a heavy hammer! I've used this Jack Hammer on other projects over the last 6 months and it continues to do the job.We had a landscaper doing some "hardscape" work at our house. Heavy stuff like boulder walls, granite fire pit carved into the underground ledge, cutting and shaping large boulders and ledge into steps and excavating the area with large equipment. This guy carves out and creates gas fire pits using a boulder! We were working on removing 18" from the top of a giant piece of underground ledge (20' x 30') and needed to shape and level the rock ledge to accommodate the seating. I mentioned to the contractor that I had this Jack Hammer, so we tried it and it worked very well to break up the granite ledge and complete the job. He was very impressed (again, given the price point) and was going to order one for himself. I realize there are larger, more robust jack hammers available, but you won't find one as compact, easy to use and cost effective as this one. The only issue (and it is minor) that I have had with this unit is the handle. It isn't well attached. I simply removed it, added some spacer material to create a tighter fit between the handle and the housing, re-installed and now it stays in place. I would have spent more money renting a tool to do the work, but, because I bought this one, I still have the tool! Highly recommend this product to anyone needing to break something up.

Looking for a solution to digging holes for my wife's plants at our new home. Hard, firm clay. Tried a post hole digger and it just shaved clay. Thought about idea of a jack hammer and wondered if that was not too far out of the box. Then read a review by lady in New Mexico I think with same issue. Husband got this product and has been digging ever since. So I decided to give it a try. Bingo. Dug into the clay with the wide shovel like a knife on warm butter. Dug enough holes and loosed the dirt to keep my wife happy for a while.Do not know how well it would work on concrete, but for our needs it is tops.Update January 7, 2023. The jack hammer worked fine - until the pin that holds the tools in broke. Should be no problem - has a year warranty. In late fall, I went to the Vevor website and entered information for an issue. No answer. So December 29, I called the toll free number on the website. After a period, spoke with Karla R (evidently a third party vendor that responds to calls). She was quite nice. Requested my order information and a picture of the broken pin via text. I sent her the information and she texted back that she had received and the manufacturer would contact me via email the next morning. No email next morning. I text her back and advised no email. She responded that she sent another message to manufacture and I should hear back next morning. No email. I advised her of such. On January 2, she sent text saying "allow me to reach out and send a 2nd follow up request, I apologize for the delay on Vevors end. I have reached out to them please check your emails no later than tomorrow. " Five days later and still no response from Vevor. So if you decide to purchase this, looks like one cannot figure on any support from Vevor after the sale.
