I dabbed a little of this product on my tongue, and it does have a funky bitter taste with a tingling sensation. So, I dip my finger into the liquid and rub it on my dogs gums, not a LOT! It does not bother them that much, and they will lick a little off of my finger. It does help their gums.

My Dog does open her mouth, she does not like the orange flavor. Her tooth paste is chicken flavored, she likes it.

Great for dogs, and cats if you can wrangle them and avoid the razor claws… do not advise you hurt yourself using this product. The dogs don’t care for it much, but they’ve gotten used to it happening daily before bed. It has really gotten rid of the dumpster fire breath! 10/10

This product is ORANGE flavored, which I didn't realize when I ordered it. Citrus is toxic to cats, so our feline fur babies obviously think this product is poison, and that mom and dad are trying to kill them. I'm sure that this product works fine from a medical standpoint, as our older cat's gums healed up fine when we started using this after she had dental surgery. However, I am probably going to donate it to someone with a dog and seek out an alternative for my cats.We have been administering it with a small oral syringe because it's easier to handle than the straw. I highly recommend trying that if the straw isn't working for you.If you get this product on your clothes, carpet, couch, or your pet's fur, it dries into an unsightly white crust that you'll need to wash off.

My cat doesn’t like it...but likes it more than the dentahex we were using before. The liquid also has a sticky consistency, which I assume let’s it cost and stick in the mouth longer. I also like the long applicator nozzle. The only thing it needs to get 5 stars is a cap for the end of the nozzle. There’s nothing to seal it with, and a few times the liquid has dried and clogged the nozzle tip.

This product REALLY works! I have a 15 yr old lab and his breath was terrible. I brush his teeth with enzyme tooth paste and give dentastix 2x day but it did NOT help. This rinse has chlorhexidine which kills the bacteria that is causing the problem. His teeth and gums look so much better too. It is very easy to use and has a great taste! (Yes I tried it!) You just slide tube along inside of cheek area and squeeze bottle as you pull out. A thin stream coats teeth and gums, and my dog licks around getting solution all through his mouth!

I used to buy the CET Rinse, but I guess it's no longer available, so I purchased this. It helped with my Toy Poodle's CUPS (Canine Ulcerative Paradental Stomatitis) recent flare-up. I use an empty syringe with a needle-nose, put a hand towel around my dog's neck, secured with a hair-clip and squirt away. After about 2 or 3 days, she's so much better, no more irritated gums (I brush her teeth daily). And has kept me from having to spend hundreds to over a thousand dollars (at the Specialty Vet rip-off) for a teeth cleaning. This one seems to have a little added flavor to make it more palatable. I love that this is available at such a reasonable price. I remember purchasing the CET rinse at the vet, for about twice as much. Hard to understand, how they can justify marking up products so exorbitantly, especially when pets are in dire need and people just can't afford it.

The extended nozzle is terrific, once it is setup properly (no directions included). Basically, it comes with a loose straight tube that needs to be connected to the stub of the angled piece that protrudes from the bottom of the cap... insert the flat-cut piece into the nub, and leave the angled cut at the bottom, to go into the bottle. Also, the very tip of the nozzle needs to be snipped off. There was a tiny pin-hole in it, but it was not wide enough to get a nice stream out of the nozzle. It doesn't need to be cut back much at all ... I wanted a very narrow stream, so I just nipped a little bit from the tip. Once set-up properly, one can squeeze the bottle and the medicine squirts out in a nice stream - squeeze gently, and it flows gently, squeeze firmly and it squirts out with authority where aimed. One does not have to invert the bottle - it is not gravity fed ... it can be vertical, or tilted for convenience and a little squeeze will make it squirt! My kitty tolerates the taste well. It seems a little thicker (more viscous) and more sticky than another brand I used, and perhaps this will help it cling to the inflamed gum line a bit better (?). It is .13% instead of the .12% of my pervious brand, too. But, for me, the biggest advantage is the "added value" of the squeeze nozzle - it makes administration much easier. Plus, when it's gone, I can fill the bottle with denatured alcohol for small clean-up jobs around the house! Finally, the product itself is alcohol-free, which is always good ... other similar products contain alcohol.
