These stands are simple to assemble and durable. Haven't tried them with 1700lbs yet but I've put good amount of weight on them I say about 250lbs I've purchased two of these in 2013 for a department where I work I went to use them and they been stored out side for I don't know how long and they still worked as if they were brand new now I'm not suggesting you store them out side I'm just giving you an idea how durable these stands are. If you deal with heavy materials and you need a good rolling stand these are the ones for you.
