The beans were exceptionally dry and the flavor very weak and dull.

This coffee was pretty tasty overall! It had a lot of flavor for a light roast. I did taste somewhat of floral notes in it which was interesting. The price point is a little high for the size of the bag, but you can tell it's high quality coffee beans. We'd definitely go back to this one again for our morning brew.

This is for the Wilder blend.I usually like my coffee dark, but I also like a lack of bitterness or acidity. Which is probably why I like this coffee so much - it is on the mild side, but absolutely smooth, no bitterness or acidity at all.I was a bit hesitant because of the dandelion comment on the bag. However, when I opened this up, I smelled almost a chocolate aroma. Very pleasant. The beans were definitely a much lighter color than I usually pick, but this is what I would consider an upper-end drink. It is pricy, but if you are picky about your coffee, this is worth it.As a side note - be aware this is a whole bean coffee. Had to go find my coffee grinder, it has been awhile since I have used it......

This is a really great blend, definitely more of a breakfast blend, it's light, and almost tea like. Though this is likely due to my brewing of it via French press method. Really enjoy the flavor, grinds nicely. Price is fair. I actually split this with some Mayorga dark roast 2:1 and it's a perfect cup for me. Both roasts just compliment one another nicely.

I did not taste any of the notes mentioned, no matter how I brewed this stuff. I tried it as espresso and it was difficult to dial in and wasn't great on its on. I did french press and v60 and they were about the same, no distinguishable notes, but surprisingly the best tasting for this variety was as a cold brew. That was unexpected to me because I usually don't prefer cold brew, but did for this type. The quality was fine, and in cold brew I did taste a tiny bit of a floral... something. I don't know. The taste was fine, like, I don't absolutely need to taste whatever the notes are, I just need my caffeine. This was fine, but for a premium coffee, I expected more.

This is a 12 oz resealable zip top pouch of Wilder seasonal blend whole bean coffee, from Verve Coffee Roasters. It arrived fresh and factory sealed. As soon as I opened the bag I was greeted with a wonderful coffee aroma. The beans are an appropriate color for a light-medium roast, without oiliness or other visible defects. I ground and brewed the beans with my usual method (conical burr grinder, French press) and measurements, and have drank it both black and with half & half, and it is a really lovely coffee. It strikes a perfect balance between bright and smooth...bright enough to be interesting, but smooth enough to not upset your stomach. I'd say the tasting notes on the label are accurate in terms of this coffee's fruitiness. The label provides good information about the beans (origin etc.) and the company itself, and there is a QR code for more information. I love that this company uses ethical, sustainable practices. This coffee is special, and exceptionally good.

The bag says Dandelion and Cherry Leaves. I guess this is the "nose", the way it smells. The nose I would describe as something green. Maybe green bean with something spicy like black pepper. Nothing on the nose that says "coffee", like the underlying smell of a store aisle selling coffee beans. I usually select a dark roast, like cuban espresso dark. This nose continues from the bean to the grind to the cup. On the nose in the cup there is something that says coffee. Like a donut store coffee or americano, but also something green like a dandelion or green bean. The flavor is coffee. Not as dark as Im used to, with a bit more bitterness, all indicating this is a light roast. As someone who is not used to a light roast its interesting and drinkable compared to a dark roast espresso. I can drink it as coffee. The nose and flavor of a dark roast have become boring and flat, since I drink so much of it. I drink it without analysis. This light roast Im not in love with the flavor or nose. It simply is coffee in a different form than my familiar dark roast. However coffee is good. Maybe I need a mid roast to really fall in love with the nose profile and make coffee deserving of constantly being sniffed at. Im not sure. I usually just drink the stuff. Sometimes 15 minutes prior to waking up, where coffee is some sleepy memory hardly worthy of analyzing as a fact that it existed in the first place.

After brewing several cups of Verve's Wilder Blend over the past few weeks, I've formed some clear opinions about this light roast:The aroma is quite pleasant — there's definitely a subtle fruity, cherry-like quality that several other reviewers mentioned, though I wouldn't say it's particularly strong. What stands out most is how clean and smooth this coffee tastes. There's minimal bitterness and acidity compared to other light roasts I've tried. It's bright without being overwhelming, making it approachable even if you typically prefer darker coffees. I enjoy lighter roasts usually and I find this delightful to start a morning with. The packaging is also great, love the bold illustration on the bag!
