About this item

  • The Gara Modular Sprint fin is the new 2020 model part of the Cressi Gara Modular line. Shorter version of the Impulse model, very popular with freedivers.
  • Versatile design, ideal for any activity: scuba diving, freediving, and snorkeling. Available in different sizes for adults.
  • Thanks to the Modular Foot Pocket design you can change the blade choosing different lengths and models.
  • The Full Foot Pocket is made of rubber with different elastic properties depending on the area, to adapt to the shape of the foot ensuring maximum comfort.
  • The blade of Sprint, like the Impulse blade, is made of a single thermoplastic elastomer, although it would be more correct to refer to an angled sublayer and an overlay.

The Cressi Gara Modular Sprint fin is part of the Cressi Gara line. It is a shorter version of the Impulse fin, which proved to be hugely popular with free divers worldwide, both amateurs and the most demanding professional free divers. This is also confirmed by the large number of articles dedicated to it by specialized journalists in sector magazines. Sprint is designed to meet the needs of free divers and spear fishers who practice this sport in wintertime and when a fin as long as Impulse is not necessary. Both fins have been designed using expensive finite element software programs that allow highly complex and equally high-performance sections to be defined. The blade of Sprint, like the Impulse blade, is made of a single thermoplastic elastomer, although it would be more correct to refer to an angled sublayer and an overlay. The sublayer follows the shape and dimensions of almost the entire fin. It has a uniform thickness and a flexible longitudinal propulsion wing of variable length. In contrast, the so-called overlay covers the propulsion wing selectively and has a thickness that slopes from the maximum value to zero longitudinally towards the tip of the blade. As a result, the fin offers a new way of storing and releasing elastic potential energy, greatly assisting the movement of the free diver's legs and thus guaranteeing a net improvement in propulsive output. When disassembled, the blade and foot pocket occupy the space of a normal snorkeling fin.Gara Mo

In concept, a nice medium-sized alternative full-foot fin to Cressi's traditional long-blade free-diving fins. Unfortunately however, these fins fall way short of Cressi's usual quality standards, as the foot pocket sizes fit larger and wider than on their traditional Gara models. To compensate for this design flaw, the fins come with foot inserts, which tend to slide around inside the pockets and without which you risk losing the fins off your feet, unless wearing a thick sock or booty. The other problem with these fins is that the blades aren't integrated into the foot pocket and tend to pop out of the rubber channels when in use and in particular if making a giant stride off the back of the boat. To fit the blades back into the channels between dives is no easy task and impossible to do underwater. Bottom line, don't waste your money on buying these fins.

I tried several different fins from various companies, and some of them caused me leg cramps. However, the Cressi Gara Modular Sprint fins were a delight from the very first day. They felt incredibly comfortable. No more leg cramps, just perfect comfort! I highly recommend them! The only one issue I encountered was with the sizing. Initially, I purchased my usual size, 8/9 (40/41), but the fins were too big. After returning them and getting one size smaller, 6/6.5 (38/39), they fit perfectly. So, be sure to consider this when making your purchase.

I was able to get a perfect fit by ordering the next size down. I would say that the sizing is not true to size! But other than that, they are perfect

I was excited to try these fins out and make sure they fit etc. I practiced in the pool only to come to find by accident when I took my fins off that screws and the plate were on the pool bottom. Luckily I was able to retrieve the pieces and will return these fins and get replacement and a smaller size. Other than that, I liked them.

El articulo llegó un poco antes de la fecha, llegó en buen estado. El inconveniente fue que la talla es mucho mas grande de lo que dice, en talas US soy 8.5 y pedí una talla 7-8 y a pesar de eso me quedaron grandes.

seems like good fins, an intermediate size if you do some free diving and also snorkeling. I do spear fishing so it seems about right. I do consider buying shorter ones though, never longer ones. Long fins are very annoying in shallow waters.

After reading the reviews I made sure to order the fins one (1) size down from my regular shoe size. Despite this the fins are way to big even with the insoles and a 2mm neoprene sock. The foot pockets are extra large for the size given and will fit a very wide foot, got narrow feet, forget it.Since I reside in Ecuador and our freight forwarder only transports items from the US to Ecuador I am unable to return the item and stuck with a useless pair of fins. Best to try on and buy at a brick and mortar store.
