I love that this is not made of some cheap plastic that will snap with a little pressure.I make bookmarks as a fundraiser for my county animal shelter. I have had trouble getting a clean, crisp edge when I turn the fabric to the right side. This tool does a great job! Feels good in my hand and gives me a beautiful seam line. Great price and seems very durable.

These are hefty tools of good size. It crease paper fine. I do not have thin paper to see if it will damage thin papers. But with regular papers, I don't see any problem. The edge at the tip looks little sharp. Never used bone tool before, therefore not sure if it will wear out and give rounded edge. For my purpose, it will work fine.

I initially bought the 4" score tool but found it too short for some projects. I recommend the longer (7") because it's easier to hold and apply force to the paper. It feels good to be using a natural-material product and the bone is so smooth and solid, it looks like ivory. This would make a unique little gift for any creative person, regardless of how much he/she would use it. Very happy with mine.

For many years, I have occasionally wanted this tool, which I learned to call a bone folder in my youth. I am using it right now while crafting paper decorations. It is a classic for creasing and assisting in folding paper and some other thin materials. It can also be used to burnish the surface of materials that are softer than it is. I have avoided buying some plastic or wooden ones; often the plastic ones have edges that are too sharp, and they are overly lightweight in the hand. Wooden ones often have a surface that is rough or too porous. I was pleased to find this one made of bone, the best material I know of for this tool. This product met all my requirements and expectations. It has the weight and density of bone, and the shaping and polishing are perfect on it. I passed my bamboo one to a friend who might have judged bone as too icky. If you haven't seen a good bone tool, they are slightly off-white in color, smooth and slightly cool to the touch, and weigh more than plastic, but they don't look much like bone as you see it in cooking or outdoors.
