Much better than Multi meter especially because it can indicate a ground rather than just a no voltage reading. That is great for differentiating ground from positive wires that are switched off.

As a DIY mechanic, I thought I had every tool I could possibly need to work on cars from home. Over the years, I’ve built up quite a collection, tackling everything from basic repairs to more intricate tasks. But after being advised by several experienced people that I needed a circuit tester, I decided to look into one. I wanted a product that offered good value for money, was well-built, and would be easy to use, as I’ve had experiences with complex tools in the past. This one caught my attention mainly because of its reasonable price point, the promise of a three-year warranty, and the reassuringly positive responses I received from customer service when I had some initial questions. The first thing that impressed me when I opened the box was the build quality. Right away, I could tell this was a product that was built to last. The materials felt sturdy, and it didn’t feel cheap at all. But it wasn’t just the device itself that stood out. The packaging was surprisingly well thought out. Not only was the tool secured within a neat foam compartment, but it also came in a protective case. This case is one of the nicest I’ve encountered. It has a foam layer inside that holds the tester securely in place, and the design is tough enough to withstand drops. This kind of attention to detail is reassuring, particularly when you’re investing in something that’s going to be used regularly.I’ve used this automotive power circuit probe tester on several occasions, and each time, it has proven to be an invaluable tool for diagnosing electrical issues. However, it’s important to point out that there is a learning curve when using it, especially if you’ve never worked with a circuit tester before. If you’re used to using a multimeter, you’ll likely find this tool easier to grasp. That said, even if you’re new to circuit testers, with a little time, you should be able to get the hang of it. The instructions included were helpful, but I found the tool itself fairly intuitive once I got started. One of the first tasks I used the tester for was to locate a break in an electrical loom in my car. I was honestly amazed at how quickly the tool identified the problem. It was incredibly efficient in finding the exact spot where the wiring had failed, which saved me a lot of time and effort compared to the old method of manually tracing wires and trying to find the break through guesswork. This tool isn’t perfect, though, and it’s important to understand its limitations. It works best when you have a full break in the circuit. In situations where the break is partial, it becomes less effective. While it might still help you identify the location of the break, it won’t be as reliable. So, you need to keep this in mind when using the tool. That said, for the majority of electrical issues that I’ve dealt with, it’s been more than sufficient. This automotive power circuit probe tester is versatile, and I’ve used it not only to locate breaks in wiring but also to test fuses and check the integrity of various electrical components. It’s a great tool for any DIY mechanic, and it’s ideal for anyone who wants to avoid costly trips to the garage for basic electrical diagnostics. The LED light indicator is another feature that I found particularly useful. When you’re working in dark or cramped spaces, being able to quickly see whether there’s a current running through a circuit makes troubleshooting much easier. It’s a small touch, but one that makes a significant difference when you’re working under the bonnet or inside a tight space.I’m also really impressed with the durability of the tester. While I haven’t dropped it, I’m confident that the protective case would offer full protection in case of an accidental drop. The case’s robust design, along with its internal foam layer, ensures the tool stays secure and well-protected, even during rough handling. This makes it a reliable option for both professional use and for those of us who tinker around with cars at home. It’s the kind of tool that feels like it’s going to last for years, even with regular use.Another factor that stands out about this automotive power circuit probe tester is its value for money. Considering how much it can do, I feel like I’ve gotten a great deal. Many similar products on the market are more expensive, and I was initially unsure whether this one would live up to expectations. However, after using it several times now, I can confidently say that it’s well worth the investment. The functionality and durability it offers at this price point are excellent, especially when you factor in the three-year warranty, which is a nice reassurance for anyone investing in a new tool.In conclusion, this automotive power circuit probe tester has exceeded my expectations in every way. It’s a powerful, reliable, and easy-to-use tool that has helped me diagnose electrical issues with ease. Whether you’re looking to find a break in a loom, test fuses, or check for power in various components, this tool gets the job done. The build quality is top-notch, the protective case is a nice bonus, and the LED light indicator is incredibly useful. If you’re in the market for a circuit tester that delivers on performance and value, I wholeheartedly recommend this tool.My Ratings1 = Lowest5 = Highest- Packaging: 5- Ergonomics: 5- Value for Money: 5- Ease of Use: 4

I am a serious DIY automotive enthusiast. I am also an electronics engineer. I purchased the Vdiagtool V200 Pro to assist me with a vexing electrical problem. I bought the V200 Pro after watching a YouTube video and anxiously awaited receiving it. I was impressed with the obvious build quality. The wires are well insulated and flexible. It feels great in the hand.I have a 2010 Ford F150 with a 5.4L V8. I had it parked in my back yard and rodents got into the engine compartment and chewed up some of the wiring. It also had a problem with the AC clutch compressor being inoperable. The engine ran poorly with multiple misses and engine light came on and could not be reset.I used a code scanner to determine three of the injectors were not working. The wiring goes from the injector into a harness that disappears into a loom. I placed the V200 into AC mode and started the car. I then went to the injector connector and touched the terminals of the injector…. nothing. I then used a small terminal to connect the red wire of the probe to the injector and set it to signal trace mode. I grounded the black wire. I then ran the signal tracer over the wiring harness while listening to the “warble.” It took less than 60 seconds to trace the harness to the point where the signal stopped. It was buried inside a complicated and loaded harness. Closer inspection showed there were visual indications of the wire chewed in two pieces on the bottom of the harness by those pesky rats. I would have had great difficulty finding it with another method.I was able to repair the harness by cutting the loom and soldering the wires back together. I then found two other wires the same way. The engine was now running great! No misfires and the injectors all working! I then began to play with the V200 in its normal voltage measuring function. The engine was running and I noticed that the voltage of the battery was 12.2 VDC instead of the expected 14.4 volts. Those pesky rats were at it again. With the help of the V200 I quickly located the wire to the field terminal of the alternator. It was chewed at the connector. A quick repair and all is well. Having such a good day I decided to look at the nonfunctional AC compressor.I pulled the AC relay under the hood. Using the V200, I probed the coil terminal and determined it was not being actuated when the AC was turned on. I then moved to the relay output and used the V200 to simulate the relay operation by injecting battery voltage into the output terminal. The compressor clutch immediately engaged. The problem was evident. The compressor was prevented from operating because it was so low on refrigerant that the low-pressure sensor prevented it from turning on. In this vehicle, you cannot add refrigerant without the compressor running. I used the V200 to activate the compressor, and I added R134. In a couple of minutes, I was ready to go and was able to replace the relay, which then operated on its own.The bottom line is that I very much like the V200 Pro. It is a great tool. Well made and very versatile. It made a tedious task easy and saved me much time and effort. It is a well-made tool and has earned a top spot in my toolbox. It will easily perform almost any electrical diagnostics on an automobile. It will not replace my Fluke multimeter for critical measurements, but that is not its purpose. This makes troubleshooting wiring for almost any automotive circuit. Taillights to wipers, blowers to power windows, relays to seat controls. This is now my go-to favorite! I have oscilloscopes and meters of all types, but nothing works better for me when working on automotive wiring.I plan to buy another for my son for Christmas.
