This is a beautiful item, but there are two key things people should know before buying:-Putting this bad boy together was mostly straightforward, but there were a few times we had to get VERY creative to make certain pieces slide into place correctly.-Men’s shoes straight up don’t fit. I even had a couple pairs of my shoes (women’s size 9) that didn’t fit. If you have a bunch of kids shoes you’ll be golden, but if it’s mostly adults/adult sizes, you might want to opt for something else.

We took a chance on this given the price, but it was difficult to assemble at times, and is poor quality. Fortunately, we will still be able to use it, but I doubt it will last more than a few years.

Awesome hall tree, assembly is normal to products in this price range. Assembly can be difficult if you do not read directions properly, just take your time and it’ll come together. Very sturdy when done. Would highly recommend, our whole home is pretty much finished with Ashely Furniture and you couldn’t tell this piece was any less quality than high dollar furniture. Just BUY IT!

I have bought and assembled a lot of furniture in my life and I have never experienced worse quality than this. While attempting to erect the furniture per the instructions the entire thing collapsed. It damaged my kitchen cabinet and a buffet and I am lucky it did not hurt me. Upon inspection turns out the bottom pieces where just glued to the piece they were attached to. And neither the dowels nor the bolts were sturdy enough to hold it together. As per the picture with the bent bolts and snapped dowels. The reason why there are not more snapped dowels in the picture is because most of them stayed in the holes and cannot be pulled out. Maybe I got a lemon but I would advise you not to buy this item.

So, let me start off by saying that this is a hard one on whether or not I recommend. I would like to start off by saying that the color is darker than expected, which is really upsetting because we already have dark grey walls, and I was expecting more of a dark beige color. If I’d known this was the color I would’ve gone with white to make a bigger presence. Next, I bought the more elaborate type of halter, where there’s 15 cubbies for shoes and 6 hangers for coats etc. so idk about the other style, but this is easily the WORST thing I’ve ever put together. It’s for sure a two man job, started it at about 6 and ended at 11:30, so 5 1/2 hours. Why? Because the boards kept shifting on the really flimsy parts, and would NOT lock in correctly. It frustrated me so bad, and it caused my husband and I to argue because we were both worn to the bone and frustrated. Ended up breaking a piece of it off due to trying to keep the wobbly bit in place, and because directions weren’t clear I had flipped a board backwards, both turning the once 15 cubby hole into a 9 piece. I ended up gluing broken piece back on with construction adhesive, so hopefully it stays, but decided not to put any extra pegs on because it would be really ugly if the board came off. HOWEVER, through all the bad, this hall tree is undeniably gorgeous. This is my first house that I own, and I will stop at nothing to make my dream home a reality. So, it was still worth it to me. To the average person, probably not. It might go smoother for you if you start with having another person help you, and before screwing the boards Willy nilly look a few steps ahead to make sure it isn’t backwards. If this is a piece you just can’t not have in your home, go for it.

Not for the faint hearted when it comes to the assembly. Very first piece it had to be tape together with painters tape to hold in place until other pieces were attached to keep it from coming apart. 2 of the peg holes didn’t line up so I had to drill those out. When it came to sliding the back panel for the shoe dividers in the shoe divider walls fell off so we had to glue and use our pin or brad nailer to reattach them. If I had been any less handy with carpentry work I would have returned it. But finished product look great in our home after some cuts and bruises and some aggravation.
