I was expecting a basic cam with basic features, due to its size and low cost. What I found is a camera that brings the best of options to a compact size at a great price.Its small size means that it consumes very little windshield space. You'll hardly know it's there. But there is an option to invert the image, in case you'd rather mount it on your dash instead.Mounting is easy and secure, although if its adhesive falls victim to the Florida sunshine this summer, I'll have a more permanent solution at the ready.Downloading the free app and connecting to the built-in WiFi is simple. This makes setting options so much easier from your phone than using the buttons to navigate. They should point the user to this right away in the manual.The videos it produces are of nice quality with impressive detail. I've added screenshots.There are a number of voice commands you can use to control it, like "take a photo". This is a nice upgrade.A GPS sensor is built into the mount, so your videos can be tagged with your exact location and speed.Overall, the features of this small and light camera are very nice for the price.

I bought this dash cam for my daughter's car based on a friend's recommendation and other people's Amazon reviews. The company makes multiple models, so I researched before purchasing this specific model.On the paper, it answered all my requirements: non-obtrusive (i.e., small), 2k video sensor, heat resistant, built-in Wi-Fi, and USB-C power cable. Indeed, this model gave me all that. It has a small but good-quality display, which I used for the initial configuration, but I prefer to do most of the tasks via the VanTrue app using a Wi-Fi connection. It lets you watch and download video files and configure all camera aspects. I was surprised by the many options available in such a small form factor. For example, it has multiple video modes - 2.7k (30Hz), 2k with HDR (30Hz), and 1080p with 60Hz. Then I enabled and tested GPS and speed sensors, which can be added to your recordings - and they worked very well. It also has a G-sensor for automatic recording when the camera "feels" the collision.The package is very nice and feels really high quality. I was surprised by how many items they put into this small box. The installation was easy; follow the instructions. As a nice touch, it comes with an electrostatic sticker, which improves the picture quality by removing the reflection from the front panel. Previously, I had to purchase this item separately, so having it in the same box was great. Also, it comes with a small remote control with two buttons; I don't know if we will use it much, but it sounds like a nice touch if you do not want to extend your hand when driving.To summarize, given its quality and functionality, I doubt there is a better dash cam at this price range. My daughter has been driving with it for two weeks, and so far, it works fantastic.Note: I will update this review in several months to share how it behaves after being exposed to the California sun for long periods.
