It takes some stretching, but it will open large enough to fit over the hose fitting. The free end fits into the hose fitting and holds securely. Seems a bit expensive for a little piece of molded plastic.

I needed a cover for the city water connection to keep out unwanted dirt and bugs. It fit over the straining screen just fine. It has a security strap to keep from losing it.

Fitted well on a 1986 Carver Riviera 2807 aft cabin city water intake. Had to cut the snip on the loop about a third of an inch to get the retaining strap over the outlet, but after that it worked great 👍
