I ordered these for the usual reason - saving space for storage and travel.I have used them for both: I first used them for packing for a long weekend, just to try them out. The blue clip slides across to seal up the double-zip seal; this slips off easily, but even if it's off the bag, it still stays sealed. The vacuum unit works pretty quickly, to suck the air out and minimize the space needed in my luggage. I threw the pump in my bag, and when it was time to come home I used the pump again to pack up and come home.When I came home and unpacked, I switched out the decor on my front porch, and decided to use them to store the decorative pillows in my attic. I packed up the pillows in the bags and used the pump again and they flattened right out, using less than half the space that they'd take without being vacuum stored.We have a fairly small home, with too much stuff if I'm being honest, that I don't want to part with (linens that belonged to my grandmother, etc.) and this is a great option for storing these things safely and will also save space.I'm very happy with these - I definitely recommend.
