Tips

  • Machine taps are suggested to be used with tap collets with overload protection. Hand use or electric drills use is easy to cause breakage to the tap, so it is not recommended.
  • Use with tapping oil to get higher quality thread and more durable taps. Cutting oil is lubrication, cooling and anti-sticking. Be sure to select the appropriate cutting oil for complex tapping process and apply anti-rust oil for maintenance after use.

Needed these to clean out holes in old Toyota truck frame. Worked good and didn’t break during use which is the most important thing to me . Have no complaints with these .

Thread holes were rusted out and ruined on my 05 Liberty when I went to install a bolt-on trailer hitch. Hard to remember exactly but I think hitch was supposed to bolt on with 10mm bolts but couldn't get any to fit properly, so I had to go up to 12mm. These uxcell 12mm taps did the rethreading just fine! Used lots of "cutting fluid" (WD40 worked fine). Used in conjunction with Hanson 1766069.

I am no expert but it just works. I will recommend it as long as the steel thickness is not more than 1/4 inches.

Installing an off road bumper I had managed to damage the threads on a 12mm frame bolt/receiver on my Toyota. This tool took me less than 5 minutes to clear the damaged threads and restore them to successfully install the bolt. Make sure you match the thread pitch, go slowly and use cutting oil. I would buy them again!
