I bought these as I purchased a used desk from Facebook Marketplace, and it had pull out "shelves" (above actual drawers) with no knobs. I bought knobs for those and realized that the screws that normally come with knobs wouldn't work as there's no way to put the screw in from the other side (like you would with a regular pull out drawer). Since these have no heads on them, they screwed right into my knobs and then I could screw the other side into the shelf--voila! Now I can pull out these shelves with ease!

The tap side of the hanger bolt does not have a consistent point. You cannot directly use them in a surface without pre drilling holes.
