I needed a 3/16 collet for a woodturning project. Unfortunately my drill chuck has too much run-out.This collet fit my PSI Woodworking brand collet chuck and has no run-out. Works perfectly for my purposes.Only downside is that it comes as a two-pack. I only needed one. It's not like they go bad. 🙄

I bought two of each size I needed to load up additional bits for use on my machine and they are exact replacements fire the name brand that costs 4 times as much. Very happy.

I read the reviews that warned against these, should have listened. Measured up a few different ways, the best I got one was .0025" TIR and the worst is .0055" TIR. This coupled with a 1/4" endmill with 1" of flute means awful runout and terrible surface finish. Ordered some good ones from MSC that cost $30/each but need these stainless parts to run correctly. If you're doing maybe some plywood in a cnc home hobby router these will be ok.

So, I'm a replace often guy when things are stressed/have extended use. Since I have this approach, I feel the budget friendly collets are the way to go. I'm running a 3/8 black diamond compression bit at 900ipm and this thing holds strong. I haven't experienced any slop or wear, but I religiously replace if a bit breaks or every 3 bits (200ish sheets of plywood per bit), whichever comes first. I'm 2 years into them and don't have a complaint yet

Picked these up for a small project, works flawless with the PSI Wood turning collet system. Turned some 3/16 stainless steel without any issues. Better than the drill chuck. Plus you get 2 for the price of 1. Will be ordering other sizes that i don't have in the future.
