Compression springs are open-coil helical springs that are used to absorb shock in a variety of applications. They absorb the energy of a force acting upon them by becoming shorter, store that energy while compacted, and expand as they release the energy. These springs are either placed over a rod, or fitted inside a hole, and are found in a wide variety of applications ranging from the engine and large stamping presses to appliances and lawnmowers, electronics.

Used in a 1 inch high pressure tube to hold "stuff" in place using the endcaps. Works well for this purpose.

Worked well to replace my tailgate springs on the hinges of my 72 c10. The springs to push out the tailgate latches are too stiff and I used these go replace them with a softer feel. Works well.Pictured are the latches with the spot welds drilled out. The springs aren't pictured and showing the old springs.

The springs appear to be good quality although I cannot vouch for their durability and won't be able to....hopefully for years, but they look and feel good quality. They arrived on time and undamaged. I have no complaints.Recommended.
