First one ordered didn't work. The second one was a replacement it was Normally Closed when energized, brown wire to 120 volts supply, the blue wire to your load side, coil relay, etc. and when metal was place in front it then opened up. They need to change the function to show NC , energized to become NO

I used this sensor to retrofit an interlock that used a physical switch. The old switches were failing regularly due to water ingress.This sensor is used to switch a relay that then controls the load, and it works perfectly!
