I want to start out by acknowledging that this is an extremely inexpensive counterpart to other much more costly optics. Having said that, this would not stay securely mounted to my AR-9 rail, and would vibrate loose after 30-50 rounds. I cranked down on the lever set screw and the lever itself, and this still happened.Additionally, the red/green dots are less like dots, and more like irregular/oblong starbursts. the instructions claim that this is normal and that if you look down the sight with both eyes open, you'll train yourself to see the correct shape of the dot. This did not happen for me, nor the other people I had check out this sight. This might be better off on an air rifle or bb gun, but it would just not cooperate with my AR-9.On a positive note, the sight does feel solid, and the windage/elevation turrets have set screws that will lock/unlock them in place. When unlocked, the turrets can be adjusted by hand, which is nice.

While having just received this sight and not having hundreds of rounds fired with it, I'm posting a review as it was a relatively impressive red dot. I have a couple of good UTG scopes, both have been in service for ~4 years and have held zero with good optics so I decided to give their red dot a try. Upon mounting the sight, I turned the base around in anticipation of utilizing a magnification with it eventually. The QD mount needs a little adjustment for a good tight fit. It's best to give it a mount, release and adjust the allen screw in the center of the QD lever, then mount again, repeat as necessary until it is tight with no slop. Do not try to tighten the allen screw while the QD lever is locked down, you'll just end up stripping the head of the screw, this is common sense stuff.I have astigmatism, and most dots are not a perfect circle, and for me, this one is no different. It's not the sight, it's my eyes. If you want to test this yourself, and you have a rear peep sight mounted on your AR (this is what I mounted mine on, not an airsoft toy), look through that rear peep sight at the red dot and it should become nearly a perfect circle. You can also achieve this by poking a pin sized hole in a piece of cardboard or thick paper and viewing the dot through the hole.I have no idea what the parallax rating is on this sight, but it's certainly not parallax free, didn't expect it to be. The dot is ~4MOA according to the manual and seems about right. Out of the box, freshly mounted, mine was relatively close to being on target, with a couple of adjustments it was zeroed. Spent maybe 10 rounds to zero this sight, YMMV. Put another ~60 down range between 25 meters and 50 yards and the zero held.I had zeroed on the Red dot, and after ~50 rounds I switched to the green, had no problem putting the remaining round in a 3" circle from 50 yards so I saw no need to attempt a re-zero just for switching dot colors. Optics are clear, flip up lens covers are on solid and work great. Came with two batteries, requires one installed to operate. Comes with a spare screw for the QD base and two allen wrenches. One allen wrench is for locking/unlocking the turret screws, this one fit the allen head lock screws perfectly. The other is for the QD mount allen screw, it does NOT fit snug, it's rather loose fitting and another reason to not use it to tighten the QD mount while the lever is locked down, you'll just round out the allen screw head. It does fit well enough to adjust the screw with the QD lever in the released position.I'll update if the zero becomes an issue, and also when I use with a magnifier which I have just ordered since I am satisfied with this UTG red dot.

I liked this sight a lot. Good looks and the QD mount works very well. Seemed to be made pretty well, the glass was more than adequate for a sight in this price range. I put it on a AR in 22lr and it worked fantastic. held zero fine and was spot on the next time i took it to the range. I'm not exactly sure that i would trust it on a large caliber rifle, although the box says its recoil proof. The red and green dots are super bright and really work well in the very lowest setting, otherwise they are just fuzzed out at the edges. The adjustment of the one I got was a little off I think. It had to adjust the up/down turret all the way down until it couldn't go any further. Luckily it was spot on at that setting. Overall it has been great, but remember this is a cheap site and it isn't going to be an Aimpoint. It is excellent for what it is.

I got this and like it a lot but have not used it yet except to look through it. It does not show the lens covers but it does come with them and they fit real tight.I don't know how anyone can use this or any other dot sight with any accuracy since centering the dot is a best guess unless you're using it with a front sight. I am going to mount it offset on the side since I have a scope on top and I found it hard to center the dot so I made a reticle for the front lens. I uploaded a photo and you can see it above in customer images. I made the reticle using small solid copper wire and then painted it black with a q-tip then put the tight fitting lens cover over the wire and sight. Looks factory made. The draw back is I have to clean the lens with a q-tip also but worth it for the the reticle. Once I sight it in, I think it will work very good. Also, since I'm mounting it offset, the included mounting parts won't work because there would be no way to adjust windage and elevation so I got the UTG 30 mm ring type that fits around the sight. It has room to use one and that's all it needs. Wish one had been included.I'm not sure it would be very accurate mounting it on top with the included mounting parts because it could still not be plumb and square with the gun. I suggest a ring type mount so you can adjust it after mounting by rotating the sight in the ring mount. It still gets 5 stars but a little handy work will make it outstanding.

The sight looks to be well constructed, the quick detatch mounts, and flip up covers are great. When I recived it I put the batteries in and the reg/green light worked great. Went down stairs to my safe and mounted it on my Saiga 7.62x39 and all of the sudden the red dot is flickering, and the green dot isn't working at all, so it's being shipped back tomorrow. Must have been a bad connection. Obviously didn't get far enough to test at the range but a working one is probably a pretty nice sight. But just be aware you could end up with one like I got.
