I picked this up to give it a try for my series 181 Mini 14. I really didn't want to spend the money on a pricey name brand but I found this one works fine for a lot less. The only issue I had was related to the bipod adapter I have to use on the Mini, as it has no sling swivel stud. A little minor engineering and I was able to get the locking nut secured where I needed..It required making a shorter pin to replace the screw which goes thru the sling swivel stud. This was thru no fault of the bipod, just a quirk of the adapter I was using. The bipod is solid with nice strong springs, legs easily adjustable, rubber end caps, good height for bench shooting. The instructions are pretty sketchy but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out. The bipod does swivel some but I found I needed to slightly loosen the allen head bolt on the bottom. Takes a metric allen wrench. If you don't loosen that it won't swivel, certainly not easily. I'm probably going to pick up another for my vintage 22. I'd highly recommend this if you want something that will do the job without breaking the bank.

I think a testament to a products quality is having a return buyer.I purchased one of these 6 months ago for a .22LR Savage Mark2 FV and sold it with the gun earlier this week. Not because I wanted to get rid of the bipod but because the gun sold better as a complete package. I've since purchased a Mark2 TR and instinctively went to buy another one of these to go with it. For the money I'm very pleased with the functionality and durability of this bipod. It doesn't leave me wanting anything. Sure the Harris bipod may be more rugged and built with better materials, but unless you want a bipod to go on an "end of the world" gun where ruggedness truly matters, I can't see a reason why you'd need anything more than this. For the average range shooter this will do just the trick and on a relative budget. As far as functionality goes, I find myself shooting with the legs extended most of the time whether from a bench or in prone. After having owned the same model (6"-9") my first time I purchased this one again as being able to collapse it for storage and expand it for use is preferred opposed to having a bipod that's always large and extends to a length I don't find myself needing (9"-12").

I've owned and used them for a few months now. At first I was really impressed with them, but yet not having any other prior experience with bipods my opinions were somewhat skewed. Now my opinion has changed slightly. The metal is not overly ridged, and the metal tabs that stop the legs in collapsed form started to bend. I've had to re-bend them, but of course this causing the metal to fatigue and it won't survive an additional future bending. They are good, but as cheap bipods I wouldn't expect them to last a long time. If you need a set that you can be ruff with, do lots of prone shooting and crawl through the thick of the mud, I would suggest to save up a bit more money and buy a higher quality set of bipods. If you will be just doing some occasional shooting at the range and you need a set of cheaper bipods for the bench then these should serve you well enough.July 2015 - UPDATE, so I've owned them for awhile now, and I don't know if this is just with my set of bipods, but I had this on a .308 rifle. I have had to remove them and place them on my .22LR rifle. The left leg would spring closed from the vibration from shooting.

As usual, UTG/Leapers has nailed it with this one, too. It took me three tries (slogging through different brands and types), and I realize I just should've started here.FIRSTAbout the only thing you couldn't attach this to is a catpult. The Picatinny mount (ready, out-of-the-box) is a bench-vise. (Wait til you see the attaching hardware. (I think they use the same suspension parts on Humvees ...). The sling stud adapter gear is similarly bomb-proof. All of this sits on a base that gives you about ten degrees pan to either side. Stiff, dampened pan, not wimpy fall-apart pan.The struts are reminiscent of Harris gear, which is dandy. While positive click-stops might be handy sometimes, to me nothing beats being able to micro-adjust a reticle to the horizon. (And I've beaten up a few products that can't manage that.)This is not a lightweight airsoft accessory. I own several rifles and air guns, and this piece would serve on any of them. In fact, if pressed, I would leave the Harris home and swap this out on the other stuff, keep the kit simple.BIG round rubber feetsies! 1.125 inches dia.And of course, beartrap springs.I LIKE it. Obvious enough?SECONDThis is not an overly-tall piece, even at full extension:LOW: Pic dove-to-surface = 6.25 inchesHIGH: Pic dove-tp-surface = 7.625 inchesThis suits me fine; you may want a different model. As mentioned, the hardware is "brutal." If I could change one teensy thing, I'd make the Pic block lower, if possible --- it's a good .625 from the Pic dove to the platform, so folded, it's not incredibly low-pro.So --- two strikes, and now, this one's outta the park!It is now living (part-time) under a custom Pic mount on a Benjamin Marauder Pistol/Carbine. The Rifle is jealous. And at some point this 'pd will probably be visiting some heavier stuff, too.I would recommend this to my best friend.

Although I would not be prepared to say that the UTG is on par with a Harris or other higher end bipods it certainly is capable of doing some pretty hard duty on your gopher gun or hunting rifle. I have used two of these now and find that the workmanship is very good. It does not loosen up unlike a few of the other budget bipods. It installs easily and the finish is durable. From the point of view of being steady in the field I would have to say it makes for a very stable platform which would allow you to dial in and hit your mark. The only critic I would make is the adjust mentioned of the legs while the bipod is deployed is a little cumbersome however this may be irrelevant to you if you use them for "fun guns" only. (Ie target, small game hunting etc). Not sure I would want to put these on anything bigger than a .243 or .270. I have yet to test under the heavy recoil rifles and suspect that using them on anything with a substantial recoils ( .308,30-06, .300 Win Mag etc) MAY cause them to loosen up a bit.I have mine mounted on a Ruger 10/22 and a Remmy 700 .223. No issues.

I was skeptical, but after receiving the item (and might I add the shipping was insanely quick) I was impressed before I even had the packaging open. I installed this on my lower DIY picatinny rail on a boyds evo stock within seconds of having it out of the packaging. Nice and tight and after taking it out for the afternoon I could not tell the difference between the UTG and my $80 harris pod. When i got home I wanted to see how it mounted up with the swivel mount provided so I tossed it on my 10/22, worked great and looked decent! Great pod for a 22/223 project, might even work on a larger caliber rifle.I highly recommend this as a cheaper alternative to the more expensive pods.

I bought this to mount onto my Hi-Point 4595 Carbine. I wanted something that didn't cost much since the Carbine was just a gun I wanted to have fun with and was cheap as well. I do not really see any downside to it and it is a great item to have. I used some locktite blue on the threads in case I had to take it off later.I put around 200 rounds through the Carbine and they held up real well with no problems. I really do not see any cons but only time will tell. I listed a few things about it below.InexpensiveDurableLegs go inward and not outwardSprings are really strong (takes some force to move up or down)Legs are adjustable and they lock in tightLegs extension retract with a flick of a clip on each legLightweightEasy installI honestly would put this on a more expensive weapon and would recommend this to anyone wanting something that is functional and inexpensive.
