Was gifted one of these. The grandkids loved it so much we got a second one. To tell them apart I parted parts of it tan.Problem 1) The gift one would not work when placed in the water. Solution was to resolder a wire attached to the propeller shaft inside the boat. I took the deck off and found the loose wire. Once soldered on again it works great. The deck comes off with a Phillips screwdriver.Problem 2) as stated by others, these boats will get water in them and the electric motors won't last long after that. My suggestion is to verify it is in working condition by running it is water (there is a resistance circuit that let's the boat work when propeller shafts are wet (zero resistance between them). After I verified working, I placed silicone sealer around the deck to seal it. Just put a bead on and use some soapy water in a now to wipe your fingers off after you smooth the bead. Allow silicone to cure for 24 hours and enjoy.Batteries last about 20ish minutes. Enough time for kids to be ready to do something else. Me too for that matter. I forgot that I use it too, lol.The grandkids are enjoying playing with two. If one ever goes out, I'll salvage some parts and use them on the next one. Parts like the battery can be reused with another boat of the same model.Buy and enjoy.

Bought this for my son for Christmas and he thought it looked really cool when he opened it. Decided to wait until the spring/summer to try it out on the lake. When we charged it and plugged battery into the boat, it didn’t work!! Needlessly to say, my son was very disappointed that his brand new toy is useless and he can’t use it!!

Love the ship but I’ve purchased 2 and they don’t last very long. They both have broken after 2 months of use.

This is a very powerful boat, almost too powerful... In our 20' round pool we can't even get it up to full speed before having to throw it in reverse to avoid crashing it into the sides. Suitable for a larger pool or lake, etc.Quality has gone down somewhat since I got the Smasher several years ago; the various mid-sizes guns don't point, they just flop down. Additionally, the entire command structure with the third main gun is backwards. Should have 2 main guns in the front, one in the back. Only fits the opposite way.

This is a great toy for a pool. The range may not be good for a pond or anything bigger. The speed is surprisingly good. It comes with a rechargeable battery pack for the ship and a 9 volt for the controller which powers 2 props. To say the deck components are cheap plastic is an insult to the word “cheap” and the word “plastic”, but it does provide minutes of fun at a modest priceThe Japanese Imperial Navy may have sunk the original USS Missouri but it can rise again in your pool. As you can see from the photo, it was not intimated by the giant rubber ducky on its starboard side.

These guys are great! We were very impressed with this battleship. We put it in the pool and played all day. The next time it wasn't as good and I figured out that the battery pack had a loose connection. I emailed the company for just another battery pack and got an email back the next day with tracking number. Our battleship is back to full power and an absolute winner with the kids and adults.

Although there were no instructions in the box and the remote looks different...after much grumbling from my husband, we got it to work. We were going to send it back but I read the other poor reviews and then looked at the comments. IT MUST BE IN THE WATER TO WORK.We are running it around our pool now!
