Using this cable I was able to read and write to a USB thumb drive with my iPhone. I like this style because it lets you also charge at the same time. I did some testing and the UCB C connector looks to be power only, so this might also work as a safe charging cable in public spaces.

I needed to be able to plug a USB dongle into my tablet to use a remote. I purchased this. It works good as far as the USB-A and USB-C, however the charging is super slow. That could be a problem for some people.

I got this to use with my XPS laptop since it only has USB-C ports. I needed to connect my DJ controller and the cable for it has the old USB connector. I plugged this into the USB-C port on my laptop and connected the cable from my DJ controller to the USB port on this adapter. The controller came right up and everything worked flawlessly for the dance I DJ'd.I also tried using it with the wireless adapter for my mouse and it worked for that as well.It does have a charging port for connecting a charger if you don't have another USB-C port; in my case, my laptop has three ports so I didn't need it. I believe you can also connect and charge a phone from the laptop, so the energy flows either direction.

I needed to connect a usb device to my monitor to update its firmware (Samsung Odyssey 49") but the monitor only has usb-c ports, which was a problem because I only have usb-a thumbdrives. So I pcked this little adapter up and it saved me. I was able to plug the usb-c end into my monitor and thumbdrive into the other, and the monitor was suddenly able to read the thumbdrive and update itself.The other cool thing I did with this little adapter was plug the usb-c end into my iPhone 16 and charge it at the same time as reading the thumbdrive. That was actually an unexpected benefit to having the power-in adapter, didn't even occur to me that was possible until I was holding the adapter and phone in my hand. You can likewise do the same for any device that supports usb-c charging.No issues in terms of build quality. I've had mixed results with these dropshipped adapters so we'll see if it passes the test of time. But insofar as I've been using it for about a week now, it seems to be getting the job done without issue.Anyway, on the whole very glad to have picked this up. Good to have in a pinch.

I got this to be able to plug things into my phone (Galaxy A42 5G) while also charging it, but for some reason this does not work with my phone. I am able to connect a USB device to the phone but the phone will NOT charge. Perhaps this will work with other devices, but not with mine. This was quite a disappointment.

I have a Macbook laptop that has a single input for the charging cable. When I need to do something like charge it AND back up the computer to an external hard drive it was not really possible before because the battery can't last long enough to back it up. This allows me to plug in both. It also allows for charging my cellphone (or other device) with the laptop charger plugged in, with one simple splitter. Very functional and very fast charging. I highly recommend.
