Works as advertised. I use this between a mini computer and laptop on one side and a port replication with two monitors, wireless keyboard/mouse, scanner and printer connected on the port replicator side. Works perfectly. All external device on one side and shared on the mini computer and laptop. One issue, when I tried to peel the plastic protector sheet off the front of the switch the actual front of the switch was scratched & dented by just using my finger nail to remove the plastic.

I bought this so that I could switch two laptops (Macbook and Windows PC) into a docking station with 2 monitors. I wasn't sure if it would work but figured it was worth a shot. It totally does work! There's about a 5 or 10 second delay between switching but that could be due to my docking station. But other than that, it works flawlessly. I only just hooked it up, but it's a great option for this use case!

I attached this to an Anker dock PD port, to my personal laptop and to my work laptop. kind of cool that I can have them both plugged in and switch back and forth.I didn't realize right away that this had a power cord.

This is a good usb-c switch, though it has the same design issue as almost all other switches. The cord attachments on opposing ends means it is impossible to use regularly without the cords being in the way. In most of the use cases described and all of the ones where I have added a switch, it would be best to have all of the ports on the same side. This would allow access to the physical button for triggering the switch without having to have the cables sticking out in front or side. For using to switch computers between a single monitor, you never need front access to the ports but have to have the switch accessible for hitting the button. Even if wanting to plug and unplug a device regularly, accessing ports on the back would still be quite easy.Outside of that issue, this switch works well to share audio and video over usb-c to a dell monitor. It works well with an iMac where leaving the monitor connected but switched to another computer input meant apps remaining on the monitor that could not be accessed. With the switch, the mac goes back to just the iMac display, moving all the open windows to it. Click the switch again, and they return back to the external monitor. This is an upgrade over unplugging the cable from the mac every time before.I did have an audio issue initially where the external monitor connection showed video, but no sound would come from the speakers connected to that monitor. Without the switch, the video and audio both worked fine. I suspected there was an issue with how the switch transmitted the audio (DP alt mode, etc). I was ready to just remove the switch and return when I decided to do a quick test using the included usb-c cables. With that swap-out, the audio works just fine. I don't know what allowed the existing cable to work in a direct connection to the iMac and not with the switch. Something is different, whatever it is, so I thought I would share.

This switch Just Works. I tested with both video and data, and both at the same time (with a dock) and ran into no trouble. The unit does require external power, through a separate USB-C port. A (UL listed) wall adapter is included, or you can connect it to a spare USB-C port on a charger or computer. Power is required for anything to make it through the switch. It's a slight bummer it can't get power from whatever devices are connected to it, but I can understand why they did it this way.As mentioned, I was able to pass both video and data through this switch without any trouble. I was able to do this either way, too, switching a single dock between two computers or switching two monitors between one computer. It handled 4K60 and 10Gbps file transfers just fine. Switching does have a slight delay, but it's not too long.Power delivery support is claimed at 100W, but it seems to allow 140W through just fine (28V 5A.) I gave it a test with a dummy load, and didn't run into any issues at either wattage. It does seem to handle things as well as you possibly can. It seems almost entirely transparent, even maintaining VBUS Cold (as the USB-C spec requires.) The USB 3.x lines aren't electrically tied straight through, and I'm not sure if there's some sort of retimer chip or if it's just a function of switching. The USB 2.0 lines, as well as power, CC, and sideband, are electrically tied straight through. Two full featured USB-C 240W cables are included, and they indeed have all lines tied through for data and video. Resistance for VBUS+Ground for both is around 175 milliohms. They're quite flexible, and feel of good quality. They're e-marked for 240W (50V 5A) and USB4 Gen 3.Build quality of the switch itself is also quite good, with the body being made of machined anodized aluminum. The captive cable is a little stiff, but feels sturdy.I don't really have much to complain about. It just works, and I haven't run into any issues with it. It is a little expensive, but given how much care must be taken for its functionality, I find it fair.

This was purchased as an inexpensive way to share my docking station between two laptops. This little gadget works perfectly. You only need to make sure you have a valid USB-C/Thunderbolt connector on your system to make this work if you want external display capabilities.Pros: Even though it is small it does not heat up and stays cool to the touch. One button to swap between connectionsCons: It takes four to eight seconds for the switch between systems to complete.
