  • Constructed of industrial grade brass, this valve is corrosion resistant, more conducive for welding, optimal for higher temperature projects, and can be used with gasoline, diesel fuel, kerosene oil, natural gas, air etc. Due to the chemical composition of brass, this valve should NOT be used with projects involving drinking water or other water projects.
  • This valve was manufactured with a VITON seal. VITON is the most durable and high performance rubber material with the ability to resist high temperatures and corrosive chemicals and other fluids like gasoline, diesel fuel, oils, and lubricants.
  • This highly responsive valve will open and close in less than 1 second when actuated; meaning it will open or close the flow instantaneously when energized or de-energized. Also, our U.S. SOLID engineers have determined that the life cycle of this valve is well over a million cycles with proper operating conditions and maintenance.
  • PLEASE NOTE: This valve is NOT a continuous duty valve and should NOT be in continuous use for more than 8 hours in a single cycle; to do so will shorten the life of the valve and may cause the core of the valve to burn out. The U.S. Solid electric solenoid valve features a durable brass body, suitable for outdoor but not underwater use. It's favored by customers for DIY projects, moderate temperature and chemical applications, as well as for controlling flow in irrigation, reverse osmosis, and motorcycle systems.

Direction of the Flow

Most U.S. Solid Valves are UNIDIRECTIONAL

Make a note of the arrow on your valve. Most U.S. Solid valves are unidirectional. This means they are intended to flow in one direction only, in the direction of the arrow. If connected in opposite directions, the valve will not actuate properly (will not close for Normally Closed valves). Additionally, be sure the medium passing through is filtered. If not, particles will cling to the gasket over time, which can cause it to not seal properly.

THREADING

U.S. Solid Valves follow National Standards for pipe thread. We suggest the use of Teflon tape to ensure the seal of the NPT threading. The tapered male and female thread form angled surfaces that with increased torque squeeze the Teflon tape resulting in a tight seal.

OVERHEATING

These valves should be energized for less than 8 hours. While most do not have more than 18W of power, the coils are in a contained area and can burn out if energized for too long. We suggest a computer fan to keep the coil cool if necessary to energize continuously for extended periods.

POLARITY

  • For valves with 2 wires, the valve will actuate regardless of which terminal each wire is connected to (+ or -). Some units include a ground wire. Open up the connector and look for the ground symbol (as shown in the corner).
  • For valves with a ground wire, please be sure to ground the valve.

GASOLINE and PRESSURE WARNING

  • NBR gaskets should not be used with gasoline, kerosene, or other petroleum products. If your valve requires contact with these substances, opt for one with a VITON gasket.
  • All solenoid valves need some pressure to actuate. This is especially true of pilot or indirectly operated valves.

Well built solenoid valve. Works as described. Draws about 1.5 amps when on. 1" NPT on input and output. No Leaks! Will buy again!

I used this valve in my LG Top load washing machine. Because the original valve in washing machine is very small and filling took much time. Total washing time is about 2.5 hours.After fitting this solenoid valve, water fills in two minutes and the washing is completed just in 45 minutes. Zero leakage. Best quality. Sturdy.

三階のベランダに水栓がなかった為、植木鉢の水やりにこれを屋上の4階の蛇口に取り付け使ってます。ホームセンターで水道用品売り場で継手部品2個を買い。そしてアマゾンで買った12v ワイヤレススイッチ 315mhzリモコン スイッチ を取り付け、三階からワイヤースイッチで操作しています。最後に雨が掛かる所なのでペットボトルで覆いをしました。耐久性はまだ解りませんが普通に使えてます。

I have used several of these valves and they work great. They are very heavily built and are priced very competitively for the market. The only thing i can complain about is that the valve doesn't include a mount. I was able to remove the mount off my old valve and it bolted right on to this one.

I am using this as a on-off valve on a agricultural sprayer and it performs well so far, Construction seems very solid indeed. Coming from the industrial automation world, the price is incredible, probably 10% of what I would have expected to pay for a similar device from my normal industrial supply sources.A word of caution to those not familiar with electronic circuits. The solenoid DC resistance measures 7.35 Ohms and therefore draws around 1.74 amps. When you turn the solenoid off, the magnetic field will collapse and create a reverse polarity of a voltage necessary to instantaneously maintain 1.74 amps. Without some alternate path, the field collapse will generate enough voltage to arc across switch and relay contacts and quickly degrade/destroy them. Do yourself a favor and put a 1N5404 or similar diode on parallel with the solenoid, cathode to the + lead and anode to the - lead. In this way when the field collapses, the current pulse will have a path through the diode and protect your switching equipment.

I used this on my external diesel fuel tank on the back of my pick up truck 2017 F250 6.7L Superduty. I was set up as a gravity feed tank but I wanted to include a pump so I can fill my original truck fuel tank on demand which I did. The issue that I was having is that the 12v diesel pump I had was not stopping the flow pushing from my external tank to my truck's original tank. It will drip down slowly through the weekend as my truck was parked in my driveway. I will come in to my truck on a Monday to a full tank. This is great for some people but my fear was that the flow would not stop someday and it will spill out and make a mess, SO... I installed this diesel fuel solenoid in between my external tank and the pump. I already had a wire going from my 12v to the electric pump and a toggle switch inside my cab. I wired this solenoid directly to my pump so since this solenoid remained closed when off as soon as I turned my pump on this solenoid will open. Works great!! and it stopped the flow completely when off. Very happy.
