Not birch. I'm not sure what kind of wood this is but I can tell you it's not birch. I bought these in a pinch as I couldn't buy my usual panels locally. The panels are poorly joined and glue residue is everywhere. Sloppy wood filler is used to poorly hide flaws. There are gaps in the joints and micro cracks. One panel had wood rot under the cellophane. And lastly, they were heavily dented and unusable. Don't buy these.

This wooden canvas is worth the money! High quality and sturdy! Would definitely buy again for making art :)
