The board is the perfect size for my desk. I do some of my carvings right here on my desk, and in the past, I used cardboard, but I had to tape it down and after a while, the cuts and wear started to break down. That's when I decided to order "self-healing" board. It protects my desk from cuts and does not slide or move around on me when I'm cutting and carving. Great product!

I was looking at several different kinds of devices for cutting different kinds of paper products for my projects. I ended up buying this self-healing cutting mat, rather than a paper cutter, or trimmer, or even a laser cutter.I don't know if the price for the product is the best or not, but I am happy with it.The durability seems to be very nice. I really try to monitor the pressure I am using to cut my paper so that I am not pressing too hard into the mat so that I don't damage it severely.As far as accuracy goes, I don't know how accurate it is or is not. It really serves my purposes well and I am happy with it.It has a black side and a green side. I have only used one side so far. I keep it flat and out of direct sunlight and it is doing very well.I recommend this product.

I love this tried an true product. For what its worth, I'm old enough to remember when this product was invented. When I left one of my jobs as a graphic designer, I left it behind. I was embarking on a new career path as a digital graphic designer. I kept my XActo knife to open Amazon boxes. Fast forward three decades. I'm spending more of my creative time doing fine-art projects, and I create 3D comps from sometimes small pieces of paper and cardboard. Now where is my self-healing cutting matte? Oh yeah, I lost it years ago. So I ordered a brand new one, from, (you guessed it) AMAZON. I also bought refill XActo blades. I was delighted. This matte is almost exactly, and probably better, than I remembered. Now, where the heck is my XActo knife? No more cutting on pieces of corrugated cardboard. This matte actually preserves the knife's point and cutting edge, providing smooth and perfect curves. It's a miracle of materials engineering!

This was my first endeavor into crafting on a larger scale, or really any scale at all. This board made it easy to line up and cut through lots of different materials. I only wish I had gotten a larger one to start with.
