Easy plug-in-play usage with my home server. Doesn't consume a lot of energy on its own and even turns off the display when not in use. So far I have it hooked up to my UPS at home which powers my server and has no issue in the speed, or functionality. I have it monitoring my server which is powered 24/7 and I've had no issues so it's durable enough to use for long instances.

The nice variety of display parameters is handy, but the main benefit is inputting the TRUE cost of electricity, which here in CT is almost 3 time the "generation" rate that they advertise. The display will show cumulative cost over time, so one has to take note of the start time. So far, it appears my chest freezer costs about $4/week to run. The old fridge is probably going to flunk, but with recordings, a full energy audit can be approached.

I can't really speak for the accuracy of this beyond it giving about the readings I expected as I don't have another to compare it to, but it seems accurate, & It's very easy to use. Just plug into the wall & plug what you want to test into it.I just wish there was a way to set the backlight to stay on & not turn off after a set time, as having to press a button for it to light up every time I want to check it gets annoying.

Great little widget. I've always wanted to know how much power something uses so I have a rough idea of what it costs. You just plug it in, plug your device into it, and it will show you the wattage. It has a lot more advanced functionality, but all I needed was the wattage. If you are so inclined, you can enter your KWH pricing and this will tell you the total cost to run an item based on how long it's been running.

I bought this device because it was price point, and because I needed to know how much energy I was consuming in my office. This device works. The LED display is easy to read, assuming that you put it on an outlet that's easy for you to reach. My outlet was not easy to reach, but an extension cord fix that issue immediately. If you were needing a device like this, then I assume that you are needing to know the energy consumption of your appliances. Pay attention to the specs on this device and you should be able to use this with confidence.

Easy to read. Helped me test the true wattage of the garden grow lights that I purchased on Amazon. Seems very accurate according to stated wattage on lights. Also plan to use to see the cost of our freeze dryer cycles. Pretty useful for monitoring energy usage. Think it would be helpful in an off-grid situation to monitor energy usage.

First off, I own multiple Klein and Fluke testers. I still use these for multiple applications. Each of these cost in the excess of $ 100.00. I always need to remove their batteries so that the batteries don't leak and destroy the tool. It's a "best practice" thing.Here's the cool things about this tool, it's inexpensive and it doesn't take batteries. You plug into a socket, and it's powered automatically. I checked it for accuracy against both my Klein multimeter, Klein socket tester, and Fluke inductive testers. It was dead on for all measurements: Volts, Amps, Watts, etc.Here's the question: Why would I use this if I wave the other meters? Well. this is quick and easy, and I hate reinstalling batteries in each of the other devices.If I have multiple circuits to check or troubleshoot, I'll beak out the Klein and Fluke tools, but if I only have a couple of things to check or I didn't have multiple hundreds of dollars to spend, this tool is a very reasonable substitute.The only drawback that i can see, is that this tester resets back to W (watts) every time it's unplugged. It's a small annoyance to cycle to one of the other measurements. It only takes a few seconds, but it's an annoyance.Note: The directions are a little weak. To cycle what is being measured, you hold down the (M) button for about 5 seconds, the screen will flash, then tap the (M) button again until you see the proper field you want to be measured. It only takes a few seconds.I would definitely recommend this tool.
