When the hose broke on our Shark vaccuum, I was sure that we would be looking for a replacement. My husband found this handle and hose on Amazon. It was such an easy fix as the bottom snaps right in place. We have to send the old hose to the landfill, but we can keep using our vacuum. It is working great. We highly recommend this replacement hose. The only down side is the handle is white, and our vacuum is silver. I am not going to quibble about that.

My teenagers decided it wasn't necessary to pick up the living room before they vacuumed it so after about 5 minutes they started complaining of a weird noise, no suction, and for the life of them they could not figure out why this was happening. After some deep contemplation the girls decided maybe they might have vacuumed up something that could possibly be affecting the vacuums performance. So, we started at the bottom and looked at the brush roll and swivel steering area, as well as the lower hose. It was all jam packed with every thing from popsicle sticks and bobby pins to twisty ties and plastic sandwich bags.I made the girls do one of the most disgusting things ever. I forced them to dig under the brush roll and pick out all the trash that was blocking the lower hose. You would have thought I was asking them to dissect an animal. It was quite the ordeal. Once it was cleaned out we attached the floor nozzle into the bottom of the canister and turned it on and I had the girls try to vacuum up some dust that hadn't quite made the trash can. Interestingly enough, none of the dust entered the hose. We still had no suction. The girls were befuddled. I told them to put on those Gen A and Gen Z hats and try to figure out what the problem was. After 15 minutes of fighting and still no suction I disconnected the hose from the canister and had the girls put their hand over the suction hole, showing them there was indeed suction coming from the canister. Then I reattached the hose with the extension wand and had them put their hand over the end of the wand... no suction. We removed the wand and they put their hand over the hose right near the handle, still no suction. It took them a bit to critically consider there could be something (or many somethings) stuck in the hose, especially since where the handle is it makes a 90 degree turn.I forced the girls to get off their devices, and similar to their forefathers of old, I made them hold the proverbial flashlight while I begrudgingly disassembled the handle to expose the top of the hose which had a dime size hole due to some unknown object that had been unfortunate enough to be in the path of a teen with a vacuum. After painstakingly pulling apart the hose and handle, I drilled into the girls heads how they needed to be careful not to break the fragile wires coming out of the top of the handle, but they still needed to remove all the items that had become lodged in hose and then clean it out before they could go to bed (it was a Friday night). At this point I went to my office, two rooms over, and logged onto Amazon to find a replacement hose. I had already mended this one once and I was not going to do it again. I was having the girls remove the jam and clean all the gunk out the hose to hopefully teach them a lesson and remind them to be more aware of what they were vacuuming up.I guess they removed a couple scrunchies, a sock, some money, rubber bands, and an earring or two (which may be why the hose tore). It took them a good hour to get everything cleaned out, and by that time I had ordered the new hose, which arrived at my house while we were at church on Sunday, and while the girls were changing afterwards I quickly installed it. It took them three days to realize the hose they cleaned was not the one on the vacuum.I guess my lesson on paying attention didn't work after all.

This vacuum replacement part is awesome. It is very close to the original. I am not sure if the hose is as good a quality material as the original but that is why I replaced it as the original hose split in a few places decreasing the suction capability and spitting the dust out. Hopefully this is a good replacement.

The hose in my original Shark wore out, this has worked great as a replacement for a reasonable price!

The Hose Handle fits perfectly on the vacuum and is much more flexible. So far, just what I needed.

I've had my vacuum for a few years. It recently got a couple tears in the hose. I duct taped them just to get by. I remembered that I could just get a replacement hose and handle on Amazon. I ordered this item and was impressed. It was easy to install and restored the performance on my vacuum. So glad I tried this first instead of just giving up and buying a new one. By doing this I extended the life of my vacuum and can use my money on something else .
