ADVANCED NanoVNA V2 Plus4 — 50kHz to 4.4GHz Vector Network Analyzer (4GHz without using hamonics)

The NanoVNA V2 plus4 is a two port T/R (transmission/reflection) VNA antenna analyzer which can measure the S parameters S11 and S21 of a two port network, or the reflection coefficient (S11) of a one port network.

  • Support PC software control, computer software compatible: Linux, Windows (7 or above), Mac OS. The VNA can be more compatible with PC and antenna measurements, when measuring the frequency.

2021 UPGRADED NanoVNA V2 Plus4 — 50kHz to 4GHz Vector Network Analyzer

The NanoVNA V2 has two channels, CH0and CH1, corresponding to ports 1 and 2.

CH0 is the S parameter S11, while CH1 is the S parameter S21.

Each trace can be set to display data from either channel.

To change the channel used by the currently active trace, select

DISPLAY →CHANNEL →CH0 REFLECT or DISPLAY →CHANNEL →CH1 THROUGH.

Configure the measurement frequency range: Select STIMULUS > START and STIMULUS > STOP

Calibrate:

  1. Enter the CAL menu and connect a SMA male-male cable to port 1 of the VNA.C
  2. Connect the OPEN standard to the cable end and select "OPEN". Wait for menu highlight.C
  3. Connect the SHORT standard to the cable end and select "SHORT". Wait for menu highlight.C
  4. Connect the LOAD standard to the cable end and select "LOAD". Wait for menu highlight.S
  5. Select "APPLY". Calibration should now be active and you can start performing measurements.

Update: 21 Feb 2025: The customer service is fantastic. The unit I have has an issue. After working with Aursinc, they resolved the issue. I highly recommend this company. They stand behind their products.The firmware needed to be updated and after the obligatory calibration, works perfectly. I use this along with several other devices and build and check my antennas, baluns, un-uns, and filters. Very cool.

I purchased this unit because of it's claim of exceptional dynamic range (90dB+) and I think it can achieve this level of performance. It is well built with a nice metal case and the display is bright and clear. If you need to make measurements on active devices, then this NanoVNA is probably a good choice for you. On the downside, the number of measurement points when operating w/o a PC is limited to 201. Also, it does not play well with the available SW. I tried 3 different SW options starting with the recommended SW but it is very limited and tedious to use (QT). NanoVNA Saver works pretty well but it's UI is clumsy and I was getting frequent crashes. The most feature rich SW for my needs is NanoVNA App, but it would not work at all with this model. I did update the unit to the latest firmware but it still would not work with NanoVNA App. Carefully consider the options before choosing this NanoVNA.

This is a great device to analyze antennas. It works well with a computer to print out Standing Wave Ratios, Smith Charts and other Antenna related information over various frequency ranges.

The equipment is well made. I have not had a chance to evaluate the functionality yet, I would expect it to function properly for it' s intended purpose.

This VNA gives you just enough dynamic range to tune duplexers for repeaters. If I can't see the bottom of the notch, I can center them. I have tuned bandpass / reject duplexers on VHF to 900 mhz systems with ease ! Definitely worth it's weight in gold.

This little unit worked ok but it is hard to get it set up to do what I needed.I am accustomed to using the bench version and while this looks like they are on the right track, the display is only fair. Needs improvement.
