My cams or "dogs" as they are more commonly known wore out on my clothes washing machine agitator. They had done this once before back around 2006 and I had installed an agitator kit (285811) back then, but from a different supplier. Anyway, the "dogs" lost their tails again so I ordered another Agitator Repair Kit this time from Seentech with the same part no. 285811. I got the kit really fast in the mail as it was estimated to arrive in three days, but only took two. All the parts were the same as my previous kit, and I installed it in about an hour. It could probably be done faster, but I usually clean the agitator after disassembly and before I install my new parts. Everything went back together just right and I am ready to start washing clothes once again. My washer is a Whirlpool two speed automatic, Model LA5550XT and this Agitator Repair Kit makes my agitator work like new again. This is an easy DIY repair job for anyone who has a little mechanical skill, and can follow instructions.

99% of required parts for a agitator rebuild included in this assembly, besides the depicted grease; I ended up just using axle-grease I had in the garage, and the kit included a sealing O-ring, so it should in-theory never come in contact with the garments in the wash. Once everything was replaced, the machine worked great again, no excessive noise, felt stout, and everything fit as required. Entire job only took about 5 minutes, only tools need are 11mm socket, ratchet & longer extension, o-ring pick, and maybe a flat-head screw driver. All steps included in paper manual. Very satisfied, time & money well spent.

The description says medium and that isnt qualified so i could not tell. That means the length/depth of the cam housing. Mine was long and i could not find the actual part number. I actually needed 285748. Could not reuse mine because the black "bearing" that holds dogs is too narrow so have to return this.

This was an easy and inexpensive fix for my warn out agitator. The listing popped up as a compatible parts kit for my washing machine, however, there were several components in the kit that did not match up with my agitator when I removed it from the machine. It turns out that I ordered the wrong kit, but this was not ultimately a problem. Rather, it was more of an annoyance, as it was one of the SUGGESTED kits that Amazon put in front of me, and the only one that popped up with one day delivery. In my haste to fix the problem I clicked on it and ordered two kits. Fortunately, I only needed the agitator "dogs" which engage the forward rotation on the top half of the agitator. Had I known that I would only be able to use the dogs and the rubber washer and o-ring, I would have just ordered a couple sets of agitator dogs for my washer and saved some money. Again, that was my error. However, the other components in this kit seemed very flimsy compared to the similar parts in my machine. This may be a quality issue with the aftermarket, or it just may be an indication of how cheaply made these new dryer machines are. In either case, I was able to fix my machine. When these dogs wear out, I'll put in the ones in the duplicate kit I ordered. They seem to only last about 2 years in this machine. I only wash about 3 loads a week.
