So I think this is better than the Godox version which surprised me. This has a rechargeable battery where the Godox one does not. This comes with diffusers and everything which is really surprising. It works with my Sony A7RV but the recycle of the flash takes a while and the strong you have it the longer you have the wait. This makes it perfect where you just want to have a little flash for fill and I love how light this is. The reason why I removed 2 stars is how this will cast a shadow when you are taking photos vertically and how long the recycle. Due to that, you are unable to use burst flash.

As most people have said, this flash is small and simple to use. Just put it on the hot shoe and start taking photos. It puts out a decent amount of lumens as long as you are within 6 to 10 ft. If your distance is more than that, you'll probably really need a standard speedlight. Obviously you don't have the custom control of luminance like you do on a standard speedlight, snd you certainly won't get high speed flashes. But for basic night time shooting, it will get you out of a pinch.I would say the big plus here is just how small and convenient it is to keep with you compared to a large professional speedlight. It also comes in a very nice padded hard case to keep it protected. It's USB-C rechargeable, so no external batteries needed.

This is a very cute, and compact little photo flash. Provide enough power for both digital or film cameras. Nothing fancy about it, there is setting to control the power level of the flash, and that's about it. It work with any single contact hotshoe cameras. I have used it on Sony and Fujifilm cameras before. No issues at all. It is fully manual control, no TTL or anything. The charge does last about 50 to 70 full power flash. Which is enough for a day trip use. It can be charged with any USB-C adaptors. Fully charged within 1 hour or so. One thing I do find a bit annoying, is the height of the flash mount. It is fairly lower, so when used with a bigger lens, it can cast a big shadow. I do wish it was designed a bit higher, or some what adjustable angle. But it is a mini camera flash, can't ask for too much.

I like how easy to use this flash is, with a simple and intuitive interface for setting the flash power and the camera triggers the rest. It’s capable of putting out a very bright strobe but can also go fairly dim; I like the range it has which will easily cover my intended use case. Build quality is excellent although I do have issues with the hot shoe mount. It’s a plastic mount and has no tensioning knobs for locking it down, it’s just a fixed depth and it’s an extremely tight fit on one of my cameras and will not fit my other camera at all, so I found this pretty disappointing. I also worry about the plastic breaking (and the hotshoe on my camera) with how tight the fit is and how much force is needed to install and remove it. I’ve used both a Godox and Panasonic flash, both of which had tensioning knobs and an adjustable mount, without issues, so I’m not really sure if the problem is my camera’s hotshoes being out of spec or if this mounting system is just no good. This makes it pretty hard for me to recommend even though the flash/light aspect of it works well.

I do not shoot much flash photography but occasionally, the additional light from a flash is welcomed. This typically involves personal photography where I take indoor shots of friends and relatives. Most mirrorless cameras no longer have a built-in flash and I am loath to spend hundreds on an external flash for the limited amount of use I would get from it. This MEDALight mini flash is perfect for my needs. It provides just the right amount of light needed to improve on some of the shots I would take indoors during family gatherings and the like. I would also recommend the MEDALight flash trigger to accompany this so you can go "off camera" with the flash itself. The whole package is so small and compact you can easily find space in even the tightest pack of small camera bags.

Excited to get this working for my new sony camera. it's a photographer's dream for simplicity and portability. The one-button design makes it incredibly user-friendly, eliminating the complexity of traditional flash settings. Despite its small size, it delivers impressive 6200K light output that works well up to 10-12 feet, and the included diffuser softens the illumination beautifully. The robust aluminum construction gives me confidence to toss it in my camera bag without worry, and its sleek design adds a retro touch to my Sony camera. When paired with the Medalight W1 wireless transmitters, it becomes even more versatile, allowing off-camera placement. It's a well-made, functional accessory that adds just the right amount of light when I need it.

Best of all is the ease and simplicity of using this flash. It's great for those who don't want to get into the flash world weeds of modes, groups, S1 or S2, TTL or manual, etc. etc. Just put it on the hot shoe, turn it on and shoot. But also of interest, this small flash is impressive for how much 6200K light it can produce. It's satisfactory at 10-12 feet at full power and ISO 100. The diffuser adds a nice softening to the illumination and I usually leave it on the flash for most purposes. The aluminum construction inspires the confidence of tossing it into my camera bag without worry of it being damaged. Simplicity itself, there is but one button for on/off and power control (in 4 steps) and one other for test firing the flash. It's very small and very handy which I appreciate. The kit includes a cool miniature Pelican-like case in which to store or transport the F1. When used with the Medalight W1 wireless transmitters, which are even smaller in size and just as easy to use, I can place the F1 off camera where I like. Recommended.
