At the beginning I thought it was prefect. Easy clean up and multiple use, come home take a nice bath. I start to notice water isn’t draining that quickly. Come to find out there is a built up…of my hair. Funny I’ve thought I losing less hair when it is time to clean it up. Nope! Most of my hair had passed through. Love the idea just need a bit more work on the engineering part

Apparently the people who owned my house before me used sulfuric acid in an effort to unclog whatever was causing the bathtub to drain super slow. I've lived here almost 4 years, and the mechanics of the drain that came with the tub, the kind that you push in and pull up, just recently completely broke apart and it no longer works. Turns out in order to get a new one costs a small fortune. I originally purchased something similar to this at the Home Depot for about $5 more than this one. It worked pretty well, except that I would fill the tub and leave it for a while to see how it did and it did not hold the water as well as the original plug. So I did some research on Amazon and saw this one and decided to give a try. I filled the tub up to the bottom of the Overflow thing so I could keep track of whether or not it was going down. I left it there for about 3 hours and when I checked it the water was at the exact same level, so I was thrilled with that. Literally the only reason why I did not give this five stars, is that the shape of it does not allow all of the water to drain out of the tub when you are done. In order to get the last of the water out of the tub so it doesn't just sit there I have to pull the plug out and put it back in. This thing just comes out super easy so it's not a big deal, but it is a design flaw. I have not had it long enough to say how durable it is over an extended period.

Worth the price? 3/5Would I buy again? 2/5My wife has long hair, and that can be a problem with our bathtub drains. I don't like cleaning out the actual drain plug, so I decided to do something about it. I saw this product on Amazon and decided to check it out.The plug is very solid and sturdy. I like the fact that it just plugs into the drainplug and works immediately. The problem for me is that it slows the draining of water. If it wasn't a dome and was more like a cup, I think that would have solved the issue. Otherwise, I like the idea.

so good that i bought a 2nd one for my mom. i have very long hair and this catches all of it, along with a bunch of dead skin (EW) but it works so well. I am sure that my drain is much cleaner now because of it. I empty it every time before i shower, rather than after, so that the hair i am removing has had time to dry out ... less gross to me for some reason.

I had purchased similar product for my bathroom sinks. My tub had a perforated drain with internal stopper controlled by a lever on overflow cover. It was constantly getting stuck or not sealing completely thus allowing water to slowly drain out. Hubby had given up repairing. Rather than constantly bothering my hubby, I just gave up on baths and switched to showers only. After seeing how well this type of stopper replacement worked on my sinks, I decided to try on the tub. I did completely remove the existing drain cover. I simply placed this stopper in the drain hole and depressed the stopper. I ran a small amount of water to test it out. Half an hour later it was still holding! I then filled up the tub with hot soapy water and had first relaxing bath in over a year! No problems at all. Water held even when my feet bumped it slightly. Easy to release the stopper—just push down and it pops right up.i thought it drained well. I didn’t wash my hair, so will see how that goes. I did run the shower for a few minutes and just had a little water in the bottom—didn’t cover my toes. Quickly drained once shower was off. Great price and simple solution for problem common in older homes!!!
