This steel tool trailer ladder rack is perfect for our needs. It is constructed of thick, durable metal. It really looks and feels like this will last for a long time.This is very easy to install quickly and is also very quick to be able to put the equipment on it it as well. This seems very well built. I am very impressed by how well this is made. The powder coating seems like it may never rust because of how they made it. These worked out great on the side of my enclosed utility trailer. They installed easy and are plenty heavy duty enough to carry my fiberglass extension ladder. One thing I really like about these is that when you are not carrying a ladder you can fold them into themselves so they don't stick out like some that are fixed. One don't side is they don't have a bar to install on the bottom of the ladder for strapping as well as keeping the ladder from rubbing against the trailer unless you get it strapped in extremely tight on the top. Will order these again when needed for another trailer and recommend to anyone needing ladder carrier.

I wish they used a pin to hold them in the closed position, instead of a knob grip thumb screw.Any outdoor equipment is going to get gummed up - it's better to have a pin than a threaded screw. It's also faster, and you can put a pin on a chain so it doesn't get lost. If you lose one of these knob grips, or if they fall out in transit, finding a replacement is a hassle.They include elastic straps, but I'm not a huge fan of elastic for bolting down equipment while driving. I would have preferred ratcheting straps or velcro straps.The slots for the straps will only facilitate 1-inch straps. None of the holes are big enough for standard hooks.The finish is nice, fully coated. I'm not sure what material is used. I'm also not sure what kind of stainless is used for the bolts and other hardware.I'm always nervous using generic import hardware, especially if I'm driving on the highway with it. As I said, the metal itself looks fine, but it's all about the details - the hinge, the stainless bolts, etc. I would recommend keeping a close eye on it.

These were perfect in many ways for my need. Heavy duty, quality item. I’ll definitely buy another set soon. Maybe even for my cargo trailer.

I didn't install these on the side of trailer or truck. I installed these mounts on the back of my shed in order to hold a 15 foot extension ladder. These side mounts are very heavy and feel very strong. They come with 1 inch straps and a knob to change the size. I've dropped the knobs twice on the ground and had to look for them, so I'm not sure if I like the knob mechanism; but they do a good job of keeping this 15 foot ladder stable against the shed.

I used these with some tapcona to mount on the side of my house. I have one ladder hanging and one ladder sitting on top and ran some plastic coated steel wires with locks through them through the supports for peace of mind. Steel is very strong and sturdy and looks good with the simple powder coating.
